Kylie Rook @yogawithkylie another one of our Lead Trainers for our 200hr RYT Teacher Training 2018.
Kylie discovered yoga during a crossroads in her life and immediately fell in love with its ability to carve a path of recovery, acceptance, strength and self love - and the way it complemented her past creative outlets, including a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts, love for psychology, and Teaching Diploma in Dance. With a Nursing degree under her belt she has always been fascinated with anatomy and this passion led her to complete her 500hr Teacher Training with Yoga Medicine. She draws on this knowledge when teaching her therapeutic style workshops and with her private clients.
She is also a certified Budokon Teacher (a fusion of Martial Arts and Yoga), and has studied with Noah Maze, Bryce Yoga, Amy Ippolitti, Chakra Vinyasa with Shiva Rea, Thomas Meyers (Anatomy Trains) and just recently also NKT therapy. She is forever studying aspects of Yoga and anatomy and firmly believes that in order to be a good teacher you must be a good student, forever furthering your knowledge and sharing it.
Kylie teaches her own unique blend of Vinyasa in Auckland as well as Yoga Therapy for several private clients and 2 years ago she developed Handstand Vinyasa which debuted this year at Wanderlust 108.
She loves handstands and believes its a great counter pose for our modern lives both mentally and physically. Allowing us to tap into our inner child, to have the confidence to play and laugh and discover the potential we all have inside.
Her own injuries led to the development of her Myofascial series of workshops which she has been sucessfully teaching throughout NZ for the past 4 years.
In 2017 she also launched her online platform so now you can take a class with her online anywhere in the world.
Kylie is passionate about helping others discover the joy and healing power of yoga both on and off the mat. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious and you will leave a workshop or class of hers feeling inspired, reinvigorated with a new understanding of your body.
