Cyber Monday. A lot of sales have been happening over the past few days. But a different kind of sale takes place every single day over the internet, a sale for children. $100 will get you screen time to watch a child under the age of 5 get molested or perform whatever act you want.
Okay, i know this is very hard to hear and stomach. In all honesty, I'd rather move on and would prefer not knowing about this. The other day, I came across a post and saw the headline and moved on. I didn't want to read it. I didn't want to know. It's Christmas time!!! The most wonderful time of the year, my favorite holiday. Isn't it easier to continue in my nice life of things that bring me happiness and self gratification? Reading about children getting molested and being forced to perform sexual acts does not make me happy. But something inside told me to scroll back. I hesitantly clicked the link. I read and watched. Now I know. and now I can't ignore it.
Today @IJM is debuting a short film, SuperMaarko - a little boy’s story of rising up from the darkness of cybersex trafficking. It will be hard to watch, but imagine the life of these children. I can’t. Hard to watch? They have lived it. If you have 5 minutes to spare, please take a moment to watch the film.
Friends, i understand if every part of you would rather just move on. But please, help. Even if you just begin to think about this devastating reality, that's something. Research it yourself, read the statistics. Become aware of what cyber sex trafficking is. Or post something to spread awareness. Perhaps you have a friend who this will resonate deeply with and they will join the fight too. a donation to IJM. Anything. We can’t stop until they’re all free. Thank you so much for reading.
