Jam without the bread? 👉🏼 How about Peanut Butter & Jam Fudge. Omgyes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The raspberry chia seed jam from my video a few posts back smeared on top of:
• 1/2 cup natural peanut butter*
• 1/4 cup coconut oil
• 1 tbsp honey or 1/8 tsp stevia
• 1/8 tsp sea salt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(*Use sunflower seed butter is you're nut-free or almond butter if you're paleo). Mix it all together. Transfer into a silicone mold or ice cube tray. Place in fridge. Top with jam once semi-set, but still soft inside. Place back in the fridge to fully firm up. Best consumed directly out of the fridge. Fudge won't hold shape for long in warmer room temps.

Creamsicles that can help encourage your little one to be a more adventurous eater? Yes please!
The unique flavor of ginger in these Mango Ginger Creamsicles is a great way to broaden your kiddo's palate. Continually introducing new flavors from a young ago is the best way to avoid picky eating. (Think seaweed, herbs, spices & fermented/soured foods.)
Ginger can also help relieve nausea during pregnancy. So go ahead pregnant mamas... have your ice cream.

Sometimes he doesn't like her touching his toys. And sometimes he doesn't want to share his food with her. But then other times he wraps his arms around her neck to keep her warm when the wind blows. Those are the times that make my mama heart burst.

The raspberry bushes in our backyard are dripping with ripe, red berries. So it was time to revisit the 'Raspberry Chia Seed Jam' recipe I posted last summer, and it was even better than I remembered. This self-setting jam is as easy as it gets with no pectin or refined sugar. See the full video tutorial & recipe up on #ohbabynutrition. #chiaseedjam

Thank you to @wholefamilyrhythms for including me in her series #realmothersdiversevoices. This series explores the diversity of family values and how different mothers strive to consciously create rhythm in their family.
In my interview share my family's core values & daily rhythms. Along with the greatest joys & biggest challenges I experience in motherhood.

I really dislike thinning my garden. It makes me sad because I want all those little babies to grow to their fullest potential. But I have to make room if I want any of them to survive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although one of the perks are these young beet tops greens. They're so fresh, tasty & not something you can buy in stores. If you've ever eaten beet tops you may have noticed the slight grittiness. That's actually because they're one of the highest sources of plant based calcium - a mineral that is so important for postpartum mamas. When pregnant, your body can pull calcium right out of your bones to supply for baby - and this continues with breastfeeding, unless you're getting enough from the foods you eat. #ohbabypostpartum

As they become increasingly aware of the outside world around them, it’s not uncommon for babies to seem less interested in breastfeeding. My busy-body nursling has trouble sitting still for milk when we’re out in public. She constantly pulls off (leaving me hanging) and often only 'sips', rarely taking in a full feed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your baby suddenly reduces breast milk intake or goes on a complete nursing strike, it can be quite distressing and can easily be mistaken for readiness to wean. But to any mamas going through this... hang in there! It's very unlikely that a breastfed baby younger than 1yr is ready to self-wean. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my latest post on #ohbabynutrition "How To Survive A Nursing Strike", I share 10 reasons why a strike may be happening. As well as 9 things to help you re-establish a healthy breastfeeding relationship. #ohbabypostpartum

After my son was born, my menstrual cycle didn't return until he was completely weaned. For me, even nursing once a day was enough to suppress my period. At almost 11 months old my little lady is still breastfeeding regularly and my cycle hasn't returned yet, but there are definitely times when I feel like it could arrive 'any minute now'. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even before your first postpartum period returns, your hormones still cycle, ebb & flow. Until finally one day they peak/drop enough to trigger ovulation/menstruation. So while you may not have your period back yet, it's totally normal to feel monthly hormonal shifts that impact your body, mood, energy levels & even food cravings. So go easy on yourselves, mamas! Your body is going through a lot and it takes time to find physical & emotional balance after having a baby. #ohbabypostpartum

I’d once heard of a baby’s mouth referred to as an “investigation station”. It's so true! Babies put pretty much anything in their mouths: toys, car keys, remote controls. So if your 4 or 5m old baby grabs food off your plate and puts it in their mouth, it’s not necessarily a sign that they’re ready to start solids yet.

It’s great to see a baby that shows an interest in food, but you also want to wait for a few other indicators to determine when they're ready. Such as, being able to sit up well without support and a loss of the tongue thrust reflex. #feedingohbaby

Cutting a banana handle, which is perfect for little hands to hold. Easier to grasp, with less of a mess. 👌🏼🍌👶🏻#feedingohbaby

Just having all of the fun that there is to be had.

I spent last weekend with one of my besties & her sweet baby boy. He's just a few weeks younger than Stevie & a super cuddly little guy. Being with him made me realize something I'd known deep down, but hadn't fully come to terms with: my baby is just not much of a cuddler. She's a little busy-body who started crawling early in her 6th month, with places to go & people to see.
This carrier has become the perfect compromise giving us both exactly what we want. She loves being up & out interacting with the world, and I love having her strapped to me, because it's basically the closest I'll get to a snuggle 😆
Whether you have a cuddly babe or not, this @ergobaby Cool Air Mesh 360 is a game changer. See giveaway details 2 posts back. Winner is drawn tomorrow!
