setting aside a few months each year to focus on black history seems kinda insulting, i mean why not just include black history into the ordinary american history syllabus?? that being said, it's definitely better than ignoring it all together. one can't perform an autopsy of americanism without including the works of James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Angela Davis and more contemporary authors like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Hilton Als and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. who are some of your other faves?
