What a crazy weekend ! @ocr_jen14 and I went to Chicago to try our first Toughest Mudder !
Two days before the event, Jen got a bad cold/flu but decided to take the chance and see what she could do despite her condition. She was on pace for her target but halfway of lap 4 her body decided it was over. I am really proud of her because she fought like only her can do. It's all or nothing. She's a beast ❤️💪🏻
On my side, I was not at my best. My body has being fighting that since the beginning of last week. But I was kinda feeling good at the start. My goal was to do 30 miles. I was telling myself that 30 miles on flat ground should be a very doable task. Well I discovered pretty fast that my body has a hard time with cold and WET environment. My 4th lap was such a mess, I failed half of the 20 obstacles and keep adding unnecessary mileage. My body said it was enough too... I had to call it a day after only 20 miles.
Gotta be honest, this DNF have a bitter taste 😑 because I know I trained for way more mileage than that. I think this Experience was a very humble one. I've learned a lot and will be even more ready next year ! Until next time @tough_mudder 😜
Ps : Congrats to @worlds_toughest_morgan for a well deserved 4th place ! 👌🏻
