Anne Boleyn may have been Henry VIII’s most famous wife, but Henry’s sixth wife, Catherine Parr, may have been his most interesting partner. The best place to learn about her is at the magnificent @sudeleycastle & Gardens in Britain’s #Cotswolds region, our latest #36Hours destination. Among the many exhibits is Queen Parr’s privy, which has a velvet canopy and a seat of crimson velvet for the royal posterior. More tips for visiting Cotswolds, with photos by @andyhaslamphoto, are at nytimes.com/36hours.

For an introduction to the vast array of hiking and rock climbing in the #FlatironMountains, consider Chautauqua Park in #Boulder, which is accessible from #Denver by a 50-minute bus plus a short taxi or ride share to the trailhead. The evening our #52Places2018 traveler @alphajada went, she happened upon dozens of juniors and seniors from Silver Creek High School in nearby Longmont taking their prom pictures. #Modica, #Sicily, was nearly obliterated after a 1693 earthquake. It's now best known for its delicious chocolate. The Frugal Traveler (@staletwizzlers) took in a sampling of the island’s beautiful vistas, ancient culture and what might be the best gelato in the world. His budget-friendly journey, with more photos by @sw_photo, is at nytimes.com/travel.

In Britain’s #Cotswolds region, our latest #36Hours destination, the #BroadwayTower provides a panoramic view of up to 16 counties from the top. The castle-like tower, which had a nuclear bunker next to it during the Cold War, was built in 1798 as a folly project for the wife of an Earl who wanted to know if a beacon light lit at the tower could be seen from her home 22 miles away. (It could.) More tips for visiting Cotswolds, with photos by @andyhaslamphoto, are at nytimes.com/36hours.

At Zakouma National Park in #Chad, visitors can view herds of #buffalo and tiang — a type of antelope — in numbers rarely seen elsewhere. More on Zakouma, home to one of the most stunning conservation success stories in #Africa, with photos by @kyledenobrega, at nytimes.com/travel.

Bourton-on-the-Water is a quintessentially winsome #Cotswolds village. But it’s no secret, so arrive early before the tour bus crowds, according to our #36Hours itinerary for #Britain’s Cotswolds region. More tips for visiting, with photos by @andyhaslamphoto, are at nytimes.com/36hours.

The Clyfford @still_museum in #Denver, an impressive concrete structure with huge walls for displaying the artist’s immense canvases, and textured ceilings that let in daylight in fractured patterns. Our #52Places2018 traveler @alphajada recently visited Denver; its Downtown area took the No. 30 spot on the list and the city is the 12th stop on Jada’s itinerary. Her full Denver dispatch is at nytimes.com/travel.
