βœ”οΈ2 cup curd
βœ”οΈ1/2 cup cashews
βœ”οΈ1 teaspoon garam masala powder
βœ”οΈ1/2 teaspoon peppercorns
βœ”οΈ1 inch cinnamon stick
βœ”οΈ1/2 cup ghee βœ”οΈ1 cup coriander leaves
βœ”οΈ1/2 cup mint
βœ”οΈ6 green chilli
βœ”οΈ2 lemon wedges

Method :
Step 1
Wash and soak the broken wheat for half an hour. Trim the mutton (boneless) of any excess fat.

Step 2
To the mutton, add 1/2 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste, half a tsp of salt, red chilli powder, half a tsp of garam masala powder and a pinch of turmeric powder. Pressure cook the mix for 8-10 min (or until 4 whistles) and simmer for another 15-20 mins. Shred and keep aside.

Step 3
Boil the broken wheat along with urad and chana dal with a tbsp of ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, 2-3 green chillies, and pepper corns in 8-10 cups of water until it's cooked completely and the water is absorbed. Blend this mix for a few seconds.

Step 4
Heat the ghee in another container, add whole spices, cooked and shredded lamb, remaining green chillies, half a cup fresh coriander and saute for a 2-3 minutes. Add curd and saute for another 10- 15 minutes. Add three cups of water and bring to a boil.

Step 5
To this, add the blended wheat and mix well while adding a little ghee as you go. Let it simmer and cook slowly for at least half an hour.

Step 6
Serve hot, garnished with cashew nuts, lemon wedges and fresh coriander

For many of us, haleem is the most favourite thing to eat during ramadan.. I know I am not wrong there.. Haleem can be the healthiest food you can eat, but only if it's prepared in such a way. .
Otherwise there is no point having haleem as a healthy option.
You need to take care of the oil that is been used in preparing it.
This is the only basic thing you should be taking care of. Because the haleem you get from market is not made out of healthy oils ( it is refined oil ) which we don't want.
I always ask you to have either coconut oil/ olive oil or just pure ghee for that matter (cooking purpose )
Refined oils and refined food products are the worst thing you can consume.
The recipe will be posted in the next post... βœ”οΈ #ramadankareem

Iftar ❀ .
Ramadan Mubarak to you guys.
Add proteins & healthy fats with your fruits while breaking your fast. .
Just to make sure you don't disturb your insulin levels. .
If you could not add proteins & fats for any reason,
please avoid eating too many fruits and oily or processed food.
. .
Let's not just cleanse our souls but also our bodies in this holy
month #eatclean #eathealthy
Two fruits a day is fine, don't over do it just in the name of healthy eating.
.
Fruits are good, but it contains sugar (fructose) too much of it can raise your insulin levels.

By the way, chicken balls in the picture are made out of dal, chicken few spices and coconut oil 😍

Do you know, why do we get tired & headache during ramadan ?
It's not because you're starving, but because you're not consuming enough water. πŸ₯›
.
You better keep a check on your water consumption also on your urine - it should be pale to no colour ( colourless) . .
Water does not just avoid headache but also keeps your kidneys health, keeps you active all day, Keeps you glowing.
Manage your WATER TIME.
Make sure you consume minimum 2-3 Ltrs of water daily.
