How to make RAW FOOD TASTE GOOD? 🥒🥕🥦🍆🥑🍅Usually when I put together a plate, I like to incorporate both raw and cooked vegetables. It makes the dish feel more substantial and keeps the flavors and textures interesting. 😋 But, when I’m in a time crunch ⌛️and don’t have any leftovers, throwing together a bunch of raw ingredients is my only option. 🙇🏼‍♀️ So how do I make it interesting? 🤷🏼‍♀️ The answer: Try to mix flavors and textures to trick your tongue into thinking the dish is more complex than it is. 😏 Take this plate as an example. There’s texture from the cabbage; natural sweetness from the beets; creamy mouthfeel from the avocado; and umami from the smoked salmon.(Okay, technically the salmon isn’t raw, but you get the gist. 😉) The best part? I didn’t have to cook or clean a single pot in the process. 🙌🏻 #NCtips #NCeats

🙃 Change your PERSPECTIVE and you can change your LIFE. - @akiniko
Stress is a major part of our mental and physical health. 🙇🏼‍♀️ So being able to alter negative thoughts is key. 🔑 If something is bringing you down or stressing you out, think about it. 🤔 Then try looking at it through a different lens. 🧐 *️⃣ If you hate your job - update your resumé and apply for another one. Make it an opportunity to move your career forward. *️⃣ If you’re feeling unhealthy and overweight - look at it as a chance to begin a positive health journey. *️⃣ If someone you love is sick - take a moment to appreciate your health, use it as an opportunity to show him/her your love, and become a pillar of strength and support. *️⃣...remember, it is all about perspective.🙃

Check out those COLORS! 🌈🥗❤️Whenever you can, try and put at least 3 different colors on your plate. It’s a little trick to ensure that you’re getting a good variety of nutrients without having to overthink it. 🤔 Because why hurt your head if you don’t have to? 💁🏼‍♀️#NCtips
PS- this works especially well with kids! 👍🏻

It may not feel like fall yet, but I’m loving the AUTUMN COLORS on this plate right here. 🍂🍁 Who’s excited for sweater weather?! I got mine lined up and ready to go. 👍🏻 (But ask me in January how I feel, and I might be singing a different tune...🤣🤷🏼‍♀️)
Cc: @jessica_berger - apologies in advance for the season pushing 🙏🏻🤭

People often ask me how I RESIST TEMPTATION. 🤭 Today was a perfect example. I spent the day soaking up the last rays of summer with some pool time and light bites. 🏊‍♀️ ☀️ Sure, there was pizza 🍕...but I chose to fill my plate with more nourishing options like salad, roasted eggplant, salmon, and tuna crostini. 🥗🍆🐠 And it was delicious! 😋 But, how did I resist the pizza? The fact of the matter is, making the healthier food choice DOESN’T have to mean eating bland food 👎🏻 but it DOES does mean I’ll feel less bloated and more energized. 👍🏻 Keeping that in mind makes passing on the pizza the clear choice. 💁🏼‍♀️ #NCtips

My tricks to savoring the LAST BITES OF SUMMER 😋☀️ Let’s be honest, these figs and peaches won’t be good much longer. 😭 But... your summer fruits and vegetables into compotes, sauces, and soups is a great way to make the most of them. 🙌🏻 Just make a batch and stick your leftovers in the freezer. That way you can revisit those summer flavors all winter long. ❄️☃️ #NCtips
PS - if you’re buying the last of summer produce, your farmers market will often sell them at a discount. 💰 I’d call that a win-win! 🙌🏻

Lately I’ve been really into going to the farmers market and buying random flowers. 🌺🥀🌻🌼🌸🌹These are oxcomb and celosia, and I kinda dig the fact that they barely even look like flowers. 🙃 Also, can we talk about the gorgeous burgundy/purple color?! Might even be my second favorite...after grey. 🤣
PS - Oxcomb have little black seeds that will make a mess ❗️so be sure to shake them into your garbage before you put them in the vase. #NCtips

Let’s talk about INTUITIVE EATING. 🧐

It seems like the perfect way to rules, just “intuition.” But for many, it just sounds like an esoteric concept. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 💭
Rest assured, if you’re having a hard time understanding what it is and how to practice it, you are not alone. 🙅🏼‍♀️ In fact, most of my clients tell me this is one of their biggest struggles. 😩
So, I decided to right about it to provide some clarity and guidance. 🙌🏻 For my tips on how to practice intuitive eating, check out the latest blog post. #NCtips (Link in bio.👆🏻)

Deconstructed BREAKFAST TACOS! 🌮 As you know, I usually opt for a breakfast bowl or toast in the mornings. (#boring! 🙋🏼‍♀️) But that doesn’t mean I don’t eat other breakfast foods...I just eat them for lunch or dinner. 💁🏼‍♀️ So here are some delicious breakfast tacos for your breakfast, lunch, AND dinner inspo.😋 #NCeats

FRIENDS are the FAMILY YOU CHOOSE 👪👩‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 choose wisely. 🧐 Get out of those toxic relationships 🙅🏼‍♀️, and open your heart to letting new people in 💁🏼‍♀️. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing, inspiring, and supportive people. (This crew right here is just one example.) Find yourself a squad who lifts you up and makes you feel good. #blessed 🙌🏻

How to get that perfect SIX MINUTE EGG? 👌🏻🍳Read on for my #NCtips 👇🏻
1️⃣ Fill a pot with enough water so that it will completely cover your egg.
2️⃣ Turn the heat on high, put the lid on, and bring the water to a boil.
3️⃣ When your water starts boiling, slowly submerge your egg into the water using a slotted spoon. Set a timer for 6 minutes.
4️⃣ When the timer goes off, immediately run your egg under cold water. This will stop the cooking process and also help cool off the egg for you to peel it.
*️⃣ I like to cut mine lengthwise and sprinkle with some good quality sea salt, like @maldonsalt1882 😋
