Protein bowls can be plain and simple sometimes, and that's okay. More isn't always better - that's my lesson today. Taking a real day off from the gym ( no cardio, nothing ). Was thinking of having a grown-up beverage πŸ₯ƒ...but somehow ended up with this much better evening treat for a lady recovering from a merciless leg session πŸ‹οΈπŸ˜΅.Is it ice-cream? Why no. It's much "nicer." With a base of frozen 🍌 and a few drops of @califiafarms, I whirled in:

Vacations are nice. Finally grasping the opportunity to go to South Africa and spending time with all the in-laws is very nice. But three weeks away from routine - that was hard. It was very hard on my stomach especially. But it was the only way I could have been forced to take a break from the gym and let myself recover. The cashew "cheese" skepticism has been put to rest. When you want cheesy pasta and you don't want the dairy, you make something better by blending soaked cashews, water, nutritional yeast, salt, garlic & onion powders, pinch of mustard and half cup of roasted butternut squash (optional) in a high speed blender. Then you ask your cheese-loving-picky-eater-hubs to try the cheese sauce. When he says it's amazing and hasn't a clue about it's cheeselessness, you know you've got a recipe worth laminating πŸ‘Œ. All you need is the 🌻 seeds, a nice heavy tablespoon of local raw 🍯 (or other sweetener - optional), a few pinches of @celticseasalt and five minutes of spinning in a food processor. Have patience here - it'll look like flour/meal at first but will eventually take on a smooth creaminess πŸ€—. Oh so good!
