Did you know that our website has a catalogue of Technical Tips Sheets? We've put together some Technical Tips and Product Information to help support your practice with information about some of our most frequently asked pottery questions. These sheets are designed so that you can download them to keep as a reference when you’re tackling the next ceramic project- or print them off to create a mini ceramics text book for your future reference.

NPS has developed a Tenmoku stoneware glaze- it’s an iron saturated dark glossy glaze which works well on a variety of clay bodies, especially well on texture.
While traditionally this glaze has had many iterations of being suited to both reduction and oxidisation atmosphere firings- our recipe is designed for oxidisation. Try layering it with other glazes, it will break and fall over clay forms but just be sure to leave a generous amount of space at the base of your pieces as it can be quite fluid.

It is currently available as a 500ml brush on or 500g powder for $18.50

Term is over and our Studio Access has been pumping! So good to see many students from Term 2 continuing their throwing practice. For more info about Studio Access check our website ☝🏼

There are still a few spots available in our upcoming Studio Mentor Program which starts next Thursday 14th July from 6.00-8.30. This course is only suitable for students at an intermediate level that can work
independently but may require further guidance while experimenting with form and application of decoration.

Guest Artist in Residence’s practice examines ephemeral moments of wonderment found in the natural world and built environment. It explores the possibilities of representation using colour, light and form through the process of painting, photography and hand-formed ceramic objects. Her work translates experiences of awe into a visual language.
