Easily the best book I've read this summer. Possibly the best I've read this year. Completely captivating from page one until the very end. Heartbreaking, magical, and beautifully written. The kind of story that renders you utterly useless until you finish. If you can wait, it would be the perfect winter read, for a weekend in front of a roaring fire with plenty of cups of warm tea or coffee. One reviewer said it best "sad as the story often is, what I remember best are the scenes of unabashed joy" ( the ice skating scene was my very favorite of the entire book.) Enjoy. It's the kind of story I could easily read again.
