It's World Photo Day! Today photographers from all around the globe will come together to share an insight into their world with a single photograph. 📸 @dkphotographyau gave us an incredible look into their world with this image. Fighting through strong wind and hail, they hiked up and across the Vatnajökull Glacier in Iceland for almost 3 hours to capture this jaw-dropping shot. “Less than a handful of people have ever seen this place and we were so lucky to be the ones to photograph it. You could literally park 2 buses on top of each other…it was SO HUGE! We don't normally include people in our images, but left Karlie in this one to show you some scale.” Share your story and inspire our world by tagging @NikonAustralia & #WorldPhotoDay.

Sally's a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd cross who was adopted as an eight-week-old puppy from a local shelter. Capturing her exuberant personality is what inspired her owner to invest in a #Nikon DSLR. This shot shows Sally relaxing in her favourite spot – positioned by the back window looking out into the yard.  #MyNikonLife

This shot was taken during the first light of an immaculate, cloudless sunrise. Having virtually no swell to work with, photographer @rippledhues jumped into the Bronte ocean bath armed only with a #Nikon #D810 and #NIKKOR AF-S 50mm f/1.4G lens.

In the years Nikon School Instructor @stevenmorrisphotography has been out photographing the night skies he has shot all manner of unidentified astronomical objects. Yet it’s his first (not shown) that will always remain closest to his heart.... Having never before used a camera, he packed his dad’s Nikon D300S, an assortment of lenses, and a tripod into the car and set off. He arrived at the designated spot with few clues about what he was looking for and even fewer about how to use the equipment at his disposal. He pointed the camera upwards and began hoping for the best.

So how did this first experience shape Steven’s future passion? Follow the link in our bio to find out!

📸 @woodygphoto "Nikon ticks over their 100th anniversary after crafting such beautiful strong and reliable products which have thankfully been in my hands since I picked up a camera. This was my first trip overseas with my best friends to document a film in Indonesia in 2014 which changed my entire life and created a career. This was my favourite image from the trip - after we had surfed perfect waist high waves in the rain on my friends birthday, I had noticed a subtle silhouette of two young fishermen merging from the horizon trying to get to shore before they were engulfed by a classic and spontaneous Indonesia downpour." #MyNikonLife

Imagine what you could capture with a D750... 📸 @framegrabs braced the cold nights in Taroona to photograph this spectacular shot of the Milky Way.
@framegrabs hot tip for shooting the stars: “Find a dark sky where the Milky Way is visible to the eye or use an app to find a dark spot. Planning is key! Always use a tripod. A long exposure at 20" to 30" with an iso between 3200 - 6400 and aperture set at F/2.8 is ideal!” #MyNikonLife

Why do you travel?
The world is vast and full of wonders. Travelling to another country, city or town gives us the opportunity to discover other cultures, and landscapes that we may not see every day.
The new perspective and insight we gain on a journey also sheds new light on how we see ourselves. We travel not to get away, but to get closer to our surroundings. #MyNikonLife #OnTheRoad

📸 @hockster111 captured this intense sunset at Falls Creek in the Victorian Alps. “This photo opportunity started out fairly lacklustre then suddenly took off as the sun peaked through a gap at the pinnacle moment lighting up the moody landscape. It was a firesky sunset to savour, I was just glad to be there with my trusty d810 in hand.” Camera: Nikon D810
