The ever-beautiful Watu Parunu beach is a three hour drive from Waingapu, the capital city of East Sumba, #Indonesia. Many people gladly undertake the long drive to experience its magic and beauty. @ragingpixels decided to make the trip, arriving a few minutes before sunrise to capture the light transition from dark blue to magenta in the horizon. The presence of a large cluster of constellations in the sky made for a simply breathtaking shot that was well worth the journey.

The Al Wathba Fossil Rocks in #AbuDhabi, #UAE, are beautiful and mesmerizing after sand and wind erosion. Taking a break from the city, @NikonMEA photographer, @naijus_visuals, managed to capture this stunning shot of the rock formations with the #MilkyWay in the background despite the light pollution in the area. This wonderful shot by @ninudango shows that animals need their beauty sleep too! Did you know that lizards experience a sleep cycle that only lasts for 80 seconds, compared to 70 to 100 minutes for humans? They also go through 350 cycles per night, compared to the 4 or 5 experienced by humans.

While visiting the Ras al Khor Bird Sanctuary in #Dubai, UAE, @_thabreez_ managed to get an amazing photo of these pink #flamingos. The sanctuary is home to more than 30,000 birds from West Asian and African countries who coexist with a wide range of animals, plants, mammals and reptiles in the dark mangrove forest. Did you know that flamingos are very social birds and it’s common for them to live in colonies of 500 to 20,000?

Despite its chilly name, #Iceland has been one of the world’s hottest travel destinations in recent years. Strandarkirkja, a coastal Lutheran Parish Church in Selvogur has proved a particularly popular destination for photographers. @pone_pluck managed to get this magnificent shot of the church nestled beautifully amid the vast landscape. It almost looks like a painting! What have you photographed on your travels? Share your stories with us by tagging them with #NikonAsia. “My hope is to share the beauty of the natural world and evoke fascination in my viewers. I want to educate on the challenges these animals face, and promote preservation and respect for the natural world.” To @shannon__wild, if one truly believes in a cause then it’s important to get involved as much as you possibly can in any way possible. Thus began her documentation of many conservation and non-profits organisations to cover various topics, including the rhino and elephant poaching crisis. It’s one thing to capture animal shots, it’s another to capture one having lunch. This beautiful Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher was photographed by @NikonIndiaOfficial photographer @hanferdf, with a gecko in its beak. Hanferd had been trying to get a good image of this Kingfisher for a day and a half, where it was only spotted four times. Good things really do come to those who wait, and with its myriad of colors, this photograph truly is a feast for the eyes.

I had taken photos of a hawk in flight overhead using a simple compact film camera and later discovered a treasure of a shot when the film was developed.” Inspired by #wildlife photography from a young age, #MyNIKKOR photographer, @amaranthinephotos is pursuing his passion of photographing stellar avian photography at a professional level.
The AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR is perfect for wildlife photography, and it produces amazingly sharp close-up photos, giving Richard the ability to focus on individual subjects to uncover their inherent beauty.

With the aim of photographing billions of stars in Sariska, Rajasthan, #India, @g.shrey decided to have some fun and experiement with a little light painting. He got one friend to stay still for 15s while another friend waved the lightstick through the air. The resulting composition brings together the wonder of the night sky with the playful nature of light painting, creating a beautiful celebration of lights.
