Don’t particularly love this freestyle of myself but wanted to post it because I’ve been talking to a lot of my freestyle friends about techniques to train my own freestyle better. Last night I talked with @iamemiliodosal for awhile about not wanting to “dance vomit” as much while I’m doing my contemporary movement and he gave me some great tips to easing into your freestyle. Listening and Feeling the music first. Starting off small, and slow, and then developing the movement into the song’s musicality and groove.
This was HARD for me because I love going 200% right away and then black out and have no idea what I just did, so it was a different and uncomfortable feeling trying to take my time. I definitely need to work a ton more on this but being uncomfortable is kind of amazing, and makes me excited to work at it. 😬 I WANT TO BE BETTER!!!!
