As a competitor, I always strived for perfection. I always wanted more and quote on quote โ€œ could be better โ€œ then I was at any given moment. This mindset ๐Ÿค” set me up for failure and got the best of me. It pushed me to some pretty extreme limits. โ€” When I look back ๐Ÿ‘€ on my past to reflect, I remember thinking I was happy at the time but from where I am now looking back I wouldnโ€™t exactly use the words โ€œ happy โ€œ in fact I wasnโ€™t even satisfied one bit ๐Ÿ˜” I never appreciated myself or how hard I worked just to be where I was. Instead I talked negatively to myself and by negative I mean I told myself I wasnโ€™t enough.. which is pretty sad to say because my younger self was enough and shouldโ€™ve always felt that way. It took me awhile and Iโ€™m still over here working on it but every day I change for a more positive outlook. I remind myself that I am worth it, Iโ€™ve worked hard to have the head on my shoulders that I do, I started practicing gratitude and I took better care of all aspects of my health.. not just basing my life on my physical health. Life started to change, my mind started to change and my body started to change. Through stress, counselling, anxiety, meditation, breathing exercises, my amazing support, my clients and every other thing that has come into my life for the better... This has been a recent discovery of mine. As Iโ€™ve taken time to reflect this summer I have become very aware within myself. Hereโ€™s why itโ€™s important ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผStretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage ๐Ÿ˜–

For example, sitting in a chair all day results in tight hamstrings in the back of the thigh. That can make it harder to extend your leg or straighten your knee all the way, which inhibits walking. Likewise, when tight muscles are suddenly called on for a strenuous activity that stretches them, they may become damaged from suddenly being stretched. Injured muscles may not be strong enough to support the joints, which can lead to joint injury.
