Brian came to me last fall after having a negative experience with a CrossFit trainer. Brian had caused damage to his body by trusting a trainer who wasn’t educated. We discussed his injuries and I ensured him we’d do extra rehabilitation to help improve the areas that were causing him grief and since then we have worked together to improve various aspects of his physical fitness and is health and total wellness.
Brian and I sat down to discuss what his top 3 goals were, we made a plan and we went for it! I designed a plan to help improve flexibility, mobility and strength in which he has made great progress! I’ve watched exercises that were once challenging for Brian get easier as the weeks went on. He was increasing his reps and his range of motion, his balance has improved! We have now moved from basic exercises like wall sits to doing things like bosu ball balances and exercises using the TRX Suspension Trainer.
Brian’s most recent program has a unique blend of cardiovascular training and functional training. We use the treadmill to perform 10 minute HITT intervals x 3 and we mix them with 3 challenging exercises that can include kettlebells, hurdles, cones, bosu balls, slam balls and more. Brian’s body seems to respond best to this training and he continues to enjoy each session. There’s nothing more rewarding then knowing my clients are happy ☺️ with their progression. This is why I do what I do and I will continue to help educate any one and everyone I can!

This is my client Tiffany. Tiffany came to me a few months back and signed up for one on one training sessions with me @westcoastironπŸ’ͺ🏼 Tiffany has been doing great and we’ve really been working on increasing her flexibility and as educating her on new exercises and proper form of previously known exercises. The result? Fantastic! She’s been getting stronger and stronger each session. Tiffany recently got into a car accident so she’s suffering from some minor but manageable back / neck pain. Instead of doing bench step ups I wanted to give her an exercise that practiced the same muscle pattern but also took the pressure off her core. So we did hack squats. A squat machine designed to support your back / core and neck area while performing a squat on some kind of inclined platform unless you’re going vertical. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” This one is great for building the legs and glutes. It’s awesome for support and it’s quite challenging so it makes for a sweaty / hard leg day. β€œ To prep or too not prep? β€œ is the big question a lot of previous competitors are recently asking themselves and since I’m a currently out of season athlete I of course too have my opinion about competitions and fitness. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Competing is a journey. Roughly a four month process that requires a lot of work, dedication to the gym and yep even constant meal prep 🍏 Although competition life and regular healthy living have many things in common there are also many things that are different and there are a few questions I’d really ask yourself before deciding whether competing fits your lifestyle or not. Here’s my list: β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” β€’ Are you ready to lock it down for the next 4 months? Give it all or nothing? Give up your social life to spend it sweating in the gym? To say no to the high calorie, fatty, sugar packed foods and stick with your lean proteins and veggies? To turn down events, skip out on family events and stay away from big gatherings? Well if you said no to any of these I wouldn’t recommend competing βœ–οΈ Truth is, is everyone gives a little more here and there when they have a specific goal set for themselves in mind, especially when it comes down to over powering other competitors. You got to be able to do what others don’t and that sometimes includes some of those things I said above. You can’t let anything get in your way and most of the time a competitor won’t let anything get in their way. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” β€’Can you mentally take it? And I don’t mean just prep? I mean the before, the during and the after. How do you prepare yourself? Teach yourself transition? Do you have a fitness professional to help educate you and guide you in the proper and safest direction? Are you ready to take on the prep? Are you prepared for your β€œ reverse β€œ or β€œ rebound β€œ do you know what these even mean or why this happens? She’s been dieting hard and keeping up with her cardio plus she’s been putting the effort in the gym when she’s there and it’s given her a great result, she looks awesome! Spring is near and the air is starting to show it! February has come and the spring showers have come into full effect. Spring means 1 amazing thing to me... Last year I started cutting at the end of April and I went from 5”3 at 132lbs down to 114lbs in this photo.
