Campaigns are a marathon, not a sprint. I’ve learned it’s really important to take a few minutes every once in a while to clear your head and refocus. For me, that’s always been with music. Some of my strongest memories from going to public schools in Rhode Island were music classes - so while Mozart and I reconnect a little today, I’m thinking about how critical arts and music education is in our schools. And as technology plays an ever-increasing role in our economy, it is so important that we bolster the things that make us most human, and invest in giving kids the creative skills that come from the arts, especially in our hardest hit communities. On top of that, that creativity and confidence will be such crucial parts of the jobs of the future.
