My best friend. He dances with me in the silliest ways to our crackly vinyls while we cook dinner, never (okay...rarely) complains when I ask him to get out of bed a thousand times before I fall asleep, makes me the prettiest furniture, encourages me in all things...I could go on. I'm just crazy about him πŸ’—

I tried really hard to wait until October before breaking out the pumpkin recipes, but just had to give in. Close enough, right? 🍁

Where the wild things are πŸ‚

Thankful for these crisp mornings and evenings, even if September afternoons in Georgia are still sweltering. Bring on the sweaters and crunchy leaves! I've been taking things slowly today - lighting my favorite candles, cooking yummy food, and finishing up a blog post that I've been praying over for more than a month now. I'm hoping to have it up by the weekend, and I can't wait to share. Happy Wednesday, my friends! πŸπŸƒ

We are spending our Labor Day resting together, drinking bubble tea (I seriously can't get enough these days!), and driving around in the beautiful weather with pretty music. I'm surprisingly not quite ready to say farewell to summer! It's been a good one β˜€οΈ

I spend a lot of my days, especially grey + rainy ones like today, dreaming about our future cut flower garden. This book (appropriately named 'Cut Flower Garden' πŸ˜‚) is such a beautiful little thing. I could make some peach tea, wrap up, and flip through the pages all day long. Happy Wednesday, my friends!

"Jesus told the story of the prodigal son to make a simple point: Never mind what you've done, just come home."

Watching the moody storm clouds roll over the mountains before putting my dress on and heading out in the freezing Nordic cold to meet Ethan - one of my favorite quiet memories from my very favorite day. Looking back, I can't believe how young we were - we were naΓ―ve and brave and simple. Nearly two years into it, I think we can both safely say that marriage is often hard, painful work and not often picture perfect. But it's also Gospel love at its most pure: self-sacrificing, relentlessly sanctifying, beautiful. I'll never stop being humbled by or thankful for that perfect little blustery day in Iceland, and the past (almost!) two years since!

I've been in a seemingly endless creative slump since coming back home, and it has been tough. It also doesn't help that my laptop AND blog hosting service are having issues, and I haven't been able to finish editing pictures or working on posts from our trip! But I'm learning to rest in it, and maybe even find peace in it, instead of simply being discouraged by it. There's always a bigger purpose behind slumps and growing pains and even petty things like computer troubles. Lately the Lord has been placing this verse from Isaiah on my heart, reminding me of the great joy found in Him, and it has been such a beautiful image throughout some days when joy starts to feel a *little* bit out of reach. Maybe it will mean something to you, too? // "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

This is a place that I call my home.

She's never too far out of sight ✨
