First up #PuppyPress in #Asymmetrical #Headstand. Love love love this one even though it's slightly scary πŸ˜… I can't do it yet with my left arm extended. Day 2 of #YesToPuppyPress brought Shoulder Strength.

Some tricep wrapping work and some shoulder opening with the help of my wheel.
The children were using my iPad for Film Friday and I was using my phone to record this so only later did I realise I did cat/cow instead of scapular push-ups in the triceps work πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ BUT I must say what a difference that makes! When I went on to downward dog you can totally feel that triceps change in it πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Thank you, Susan!
Wheel work is a favourite for me. I remember when I first started yoga last year I couldn't touch the mat with my elbows when going back. And when I did - after lots of warming up - it wasn't a comfortable thing to do πŸ˜… Our bodies are *amazing*. As an aside, I think I found @otto_theminidachshund's favourite toy everrrrrr. This pig makes an oink sound that has hypnotised him 😁

Going in with my left leg is harder for me. I feel I can't go high enough so I need to hop, unless I have 2 blocks.
But I love the all-body activation you feel as you move - or stay still! I can feel my core being a guide and pillar here.

I hadn't done this in a few weeks and I could totally feel the difference πŸ™ˆ Luckily I've joined a puppy press challenge, which starts tomorrow, so here's to practice.
This was yesterday. Today I was submerged in wine studies for 8 hours and by the time I got home (7pm) my head hurt πŸ™‰

Join us for 10 days of press prep, strengthening and drills and work towards a puppy press handstand! Puppy press is often the first press -the gateway press- because it requires the same full body activation needed for handstand pressing but it's a little easier. Handstand pressing takes strength building, body awareness, skills and technique. And we'd be lying if we said it becomes easy...but with practice it does get easier. We all have good and not as good days. And even when you think you have it locked in it takes concentration and effort...every day. One key is consistent practice.
