Life’s a beach 🤷🏼♀️
Okay guys so I’m gunna get deep for a sec here. I look happy right? I mean I am smiling. But truthfully I was fighting a battle with myself.
We’re always told to be ourselves, to speak up and have our voices heard. To talk to someone when we need help. But many of us are scared of being judged. Afraid of being told we’re irrational, overthinking and overreacting. And just to “get over it”. But it’s not that simple. It is that fear of being judged that makes us avoid people. We put on a brave front and act like everything is okay but it’s not, we act like someone else. Someone we think we want to be- the persona of a ‘happy’ person. But we’re not. We’re not ourselves.
We all have a breaking point, some sooner than others. And we all have our own ways of dealing with things. There’s no wrong way to do this, there’s just the right way for YOU. I never want anyone to think that suicide is what’s right for them. There ARE people to talk to. People who WANT to help. Whether that’s a friend, family, or a stranger.
I personally found it so much easier talking to a stranger about it than I did anyone else. Because they didn’t know me, or who they thought ‘me’ was.
But that doesn’t mean family and friends don’t want to help. That doesn’t mean you can’t talk to them- you may find it easier to talk to them. Like I said, everyone has different ways of coping. But there is always someone there to help. Please never give up, seek help. Speak up. At the end of it all, we can come out stronger. A stronger version of our TRUE self.
Mental health is a real issue, and the sooner people realise that the better. There is no quick fix, no simple solution. It just gets better over time, with help.
I am in no means a professional, but my inbox is always open if people need someone to talk to. I’ve also listed a few other charities and foundations you can contact. These are only for the UK, and only a few results, but just google “Mental Health Help” and I guarantee there will be 100s of results.
