NEPA Alliance presents loan funds of $60,000 to Castillo’s Granite and Marble, LLC
Castillo’s Granite and Marble, LLC received $60,000 in loans through two USDA Rural Development programs administered by NEPA. The loans allowed the company to purchase equipment and advanced design software that helped the company keep up with their increase in business. Other project funds consisted of an equity injection from the borrower.
Castillo’s concentrates on fabricating and installing high quality granite, marble, quartz, ceramic tiles and kitchen cabinets. The business was founded in 2007 by Francisco Castillo in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In Castillo’s first year, the company was able to complete ten projects to increase revenue enough to hire one additional full-time worker. By the end of year two, the business added two more full-time jobs and currently employs five full-time workers. The company, owned by Francisco’s parents Silvestre and Maria Castillo, regularly does business with many local companies such as Signature Buildings, Simplex Homes, Fusion Homes, Vision Home Builders, Muncy Homes and Shorten Homes.
In 2016, Castillo’s Granite and Marble, LLC moved into their own 5,000 square-foot building with more room for equipment, showrooms and additional full-time employee positions. This loan assisted Castillo’s Granite and Marble in purchasing a compact bridge saw that is much faster than their current saw and cuts down on the possibility of error by almost 90%, allowing for a more efficient process to keep up with high demand.
