It’s official. I am headed back to Lake Fork, Texas for the 2018 Yak4it Tournament of Champions Main Event! Lodging is paid, entry fee is paid, and now the rigging step and mental preparation is here. This year, I was not able to fish as many tournaments as I would have liked. Though, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to do other things... One highlight of the year was competing in the Tail of Two Cities KBS where I earned my invitation to Texas while fishing against some of the sharpest Sticks in Nebraska!
It was an interesting day on Lake Wanahoo for the Spooky Bass Kayak Fishing Tournament!
A decision to run to the dam in search for more wind blown rock paid off for Michael DeBruin and I. We managed to scrap together 1 of 2 limits today for a solid 2nd place finish. I was also lucky enough to have stuck the largest bass of the field at 17.25”! Congratulations to James Francis and Jon Moore for the their card and taking the win today. Congratulations to Kevin Workman and Ford Ekhoff for their third place finish.
Congratulations to Joshua Workman and Bob Kanne for their fourth place finish. Congratulations to Pat Lassek and Blane Cee for their fifth place finish. Kudos to Andy Moore for being the only angler to brave the conditions for the entire duration of the event! Thank you to Mike L. Brindisi and Dawn Brindisi at Select Sail & Sports, LLC for sponsoring these events. Also, thank you to Mike for helping nearly every angler load up their kayak at the end of the day today.
