Flatstock 69 has come to a close.
My first Flatstock, my first SXSW, and it was an absolute blast. So many friends seen, new friends made and wonderful times had. As a guy who spend most of his time in one room working nonstop, it was an incredible experience to get out of my room, be around people and refresh this anxious mind.
Special thanks to everyone who spent their hard earned money on the various colorful rectangles I make. It's never not incredible to have people buy my work, the crazy and nonsensical images I make and then you take them home where they get a new life out in the world. Thank you all for your support.
Also special thanks to all the new people I got a chance to meet, as well as old friends, seen again. I had some amazing conversations, fantastic experiences and a reminder that I need to not forsake a social life, and that it's incredibly invigorating. I'm sure I'll miss some names, and I apologize for that, you're all wonderful! Here's just a sampling of all the kindness:
@kylersharp @greattimeband (great to meet, Donnie!) @cityofthesun @zachpara @billyperkinsart @pittidesart @suburban_avenger @davekloc @taramcpherson (and Sean!) @milestsang @ladylazarustx (Isaac, Aleisha and your awesome daughter!) @j0nsmith @thehalfandhalf (hi Sarah!) @slep @pprboy12ca @nateduval @weirdbeard72 @tuffington_post @hornsphan @themichaelfaith @ss2steppin and of course everyone else whose social media accounts I don’t know!
And finally, a special thanks to Seth Stewart for his assistance in the booth. I somehow always seem to not orchestrate well for these things and am constantly in the weeds and he and Michael Faith and others kept me from completely drowning in this increasingly belabored metaphor. Thanks everyone, and I hope to see you at my next Flatstock! I love you all!
