I think of all of the wonderful & beautiful people I have in my life. Some near, some far. Some I get to work one on one with weekly, some I only get to see on weekends. Some I only get to communicate with via FaceTime or messaging.

I always like to take moments in my day to reflect & be grateful to those who inspire me, who guide me & who love me for who I am. Sometimes it’s unknown - or maybe misconstrued - but I try my damndest to always voice my appreciation & love to those who deserve it!

I’m a huge believer in feeding, fuelling & “fixing” the body, giving it what it NEEDS.

So many of us skip this part of training, nurturing & helping the body. The physical body can get so tight & stiff after a workout or just from day to day stresses. BUT stretching can also help with your mental health & mindset as well!
.
.
Adding breath work to each posture & stretch can add so many benefits to connecting to your body. I usually just stay in one longer if my body craves it, move or actively stretch where if feels good!
.
.
Stretching should NEVER cause you pain. If it does, your forcing your body to do something that’s not right for you. Always LISTEN to your body. If it’s too much, back off a little to where you feel a stretch NOT pain!
.

Now go try a few stretches - at your desk, at home, at the gym, in the shower - ANYWHERE, your body will love you for it!!!

This morning I invited my friend & handstand buddy to train at @lyftfitness this morning.

At the end of our glute & leg session we thought, let’s do some handstand work... & the struggle was real today.

Take away:
-Not every day is going to be easy.
-Some training sessions can feel “off” - balance, strength, endurance, etc.
-Have fun with your workouts. Not every session needs to be insanely hard or challenging.
-Smile & laugh at yourself. When we make mistakes, we can only grow & learn from them!
-Surround yourself with like-minded people. People who respect you, challenge you, share positive vibes with you & maybe can do handstands with you too (even just for try!)

We all see beauty in many ways and in many things. What beauty is to you, can be very different to what beauty is to me.

For example, a beautiful soul. I believe this is someone who is authentic, who is genuine, and who isn’t afraid to be their true self. I believe finding a beautiful soul is not easy in this world. People grow and become sheltered, fear develops, and an exclusion from what some of us may see as beauty diminishes.

Beauty as kindness. When I meet someone who is deeply kind from the heart, meaning they authentically care, they show compassion and they truly see you for you without judgment. Sometimes we look past kindness. This world that has become so busy, so selfish, and so fast paced that we forget to see the beauty in the kind souls and goodness that is around us.

Beauty in movement. Our bodies are meant to move in whatever way that feels good. Sometimes with grace and fluidity, sometimes with passion, sometimes with force and sometimes with emotion. When we listen to our bodies, and we move with our bodies without judgement, no matter what shape, size, or gender, we can find true beauty once again.

So you see, beauty can come in all forms. Above are just a few examples of how I look for beauty in the world and in those around me - not just in someone’s appearance, but beauty from the inside out.
