I’m doing this for the world, but I’m also doing this for me: for the little girl in me who grew up heartbroken ever since the first day she saw a homeless person in LA, who’s heart broke further when she discovered what slavery was, and further when she found out about the plight of native peoples around the world as well as people of color, and further still when she heard about her first hero’s work and assassination, feeling the time for Love’s revolution had passed with the 60’s. Im doing this because staying silent in these times is a crime against humanity. I’m doing this because it’s always been my deepest dream to be a part of Dr. King’s legacy, to help him in his work. I’ve finally been given my chance: this is HIS movement, led by clergy people, directly impacted individuals, AND organizers, with concept of MORALITY at its crux. This is the only way for me. I’ve always felt that art and music are the highest forms of activism, and this movement upholds the importance of art and music and keeps them in the forefront. There is no feeling like hearing hundreds of voices raising up as ONE!!!! 🙏🏽
So I’m inviting you to go to Www.PoorPeoplesCampaign.org

This movement has a major educational back end - discover facts that will activate your compassion into action, naturally! WE AIM TO DEFIBRILLATE THE HEART OF THIS NATION!!! We are saying Poverty is IMMORAL, Racism is IMMORAL, the War Economy is IMMORAL, and Ecological Devastation is IMMORAL. 🙏🏽
We will be at your state capital this Monday and every Monday for the next 5 weeks, and we’ll be singing, “SOMEBODY’S HURTING OUR PEOPLE and it’s gone on FAR TOO LONG... and WE WONT BE SILENT ANYMORE!” I want you to sing along...!! I can’t hear you!!! A little bit louder now!!!!
