Made the drive back from AZ to CA this morning and I had some time to think about the current status of the U.S 🤔
With DACA being rescinded, the hurricane efforts in Houston, the soon to be hurricane destruction in Florida, and the raging fires currently underway in Burbank, it's hard not to feel the slightest bit discouraged, helpless, what have you. But here is a reminder that you aren't helpless, there's so much you can do to get involved and truly make a difference. Below I'm going to list a series of websites that can offer aid and support to those in need. If you have any more to add, please leave a comment 🙏🏼
ALSO, I was watching a documentary the other morning and upon interviewing a homeless man, he states "I've realized that in life, the only thing that really matters is love and helping those around you" 💗 Such a beautiful statement from someone who on the surface, appears to have nothing. I hope you ask yourself today, and everyday, "what can I do to help", whether it be the person next to you, a child/family risking deportation, or a state drowning beneath tons of water..what can you do to help?
🔹cnn.com -> "here's how you can help the victims of Hurricane Harvey" (search article for resource links)
🔹Donate blood at your local blood bank
🔹and above all else, realize that just because the media has moved on to cover other topics, the people effected by the tragedies above are still suffering. Their battles have just begun. Say a little prayer, think positive thoughts, just be helpful, kind, and grateful that you aren't facing life altering catastrophe 😶
