Hello on Day Five! I will be taking a break from the dance posts this afternoon to highlight our physical therapists. As company members of Nashville Ballet, we have access to some of the best physical treatment in Tennessee. Susan Underwood Physical Therapy is in partnership with Nashville Ballet, treating the dancers on a daily basis for chronic and acute injuries. Physical therapists Christy Rose, Lindsey McNeal Ison, and Elizabeth Harrison all have backgrounds as dancers, allowing them to diagnose most dance related injuries within a few minutes. Not only do they help maintain our physical well being throughout the season, their knowledge and persistence allow any company member returning from an injury to do so properly and naturally. Thank you SUPT, from the dancers of Nashville Ballet. -Nathan

Welcome to our fourth day of #Emergence! Today I will be highlighting Susan Shields, nationally recognized choreographer and teacher. Ms. Shields has created works
for notable companies such as Ballet West, Washington Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Boston Ballet II. Her performance background includes working with companies such as Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project and the Lar Lubivitch Dance Company for eight years, dancing principal roles. Mark Morris Dance group and The Washington Ballet are among other companies she has performed with. Most recently, Ms. Shields choreographed "Visions and Miracles" commissioned by Julliard School of Dance. An evening of her work was showcased at George Mason University, where she serves at the director of the School of Dance. During #Emergence, she is choreographing to four songs by Nashville-based soul and R&B artist Jonny P.
More to come! - Nathan.
