I woke up with a β˜•οΈ in one hand and my new πŸ““ in the other.
@_sarahwilson_ has ever so perfectly depicted the beast that lives inside many of us.
"Anxiety is like having new tabs opening very quickly on your computer, one after another and not being able to close them or stop new ones from opening - but in your head."

Finally made the chop πŸ’‡πŸΌ

My healthy obsession had really begun when I was about 15 and spent hours reblogging photos of fit chicks on Tumblr. I looked at these pretty girls with six packs wearing the latest nike shorts and kicks to motivate me in the gym and inspire my small portioned 'clean' meals.
I dropped puppy fat, became obsessed with cardio and fat burners. At that stage, I was pretty happy with my results. I liked how I looked. This wasn't unhealthy in my mind, and we have a whole community on Instagram that showcase their body to inspire others, so I don't think I was wrong in finding inspiration on Tumblr. #lifebeforeinstagram
The next few years I went through peaks and troughs (partying, over exercising, no exercise at all
etc etc). It was only two years ago I found enjoyment in weightlifting. Around the same time, some new health issues arose, and so this was the start of my obsession with repairing my health.
There is a very fine line between the definition of a healthy lifestyle and unhealthy one. And I still challenge obsessive thoughts from time to time.
I go through moments of wanting to gain muscle, get a big booty, be slender with a 6 pack or a flexible yogi. And as for eating, it's always changes depending on what I've read and researched.
Overall, I've accepted my strengths, my weaknesses and my behaviours. And whether all that hard work and nutrition pays off in a years time, I grow a big butt, gain or lose a few - I want to accept and love myself for what I am, not what I'm always striving to be.
Will you appreciate your body and your health just when it gets bad? Or will you love and cherish it when it's performing well too?

Everyday is a good day to eat from a coconut bowl 🍌

I miss summer days with you, my love πŸ–€

Benefits of fitting into children's clothes and shoes... you'll probably be small for the rest of your days and you'll save a lot of money ☺️

We take before and after photos of our figure, to measure our physical changes... but do we ever compare our emotional/mental changes? Can we ever weigh it for better or worse by looking at a picture?
I was pretty unhappy with my body at this stage πŸ‘†πŸ½I can't tell you that by my smile (although this was #sahcandid taken mid laugh), but I can tell you from the memories, feelings and thoughts associated with this day.
It was my first photo shoot and I had taken over 100 photos that day and cursed at them all. I chose one photo to post that was taken at an angle that I liked.
If I were to measure my feelings towards my body now to how I felt then, I wouldn't say It's marginally different at all. In fact, it's much the same.
I can recognise I physically look a lot different but I'm always striving for more.
Self love and confidence is not about losing weight or going to the gym 5 days a week. You don't lose 3kgs and love yourself again. You don't find it by seeking validation and you're self-sabotaging your happiness if you start comparing yourself.
Self love comes from speaking to yourself with kindness everyday, like you are your own best friend. From nurturing your health and healing your emotional wounds. It comes from unconditionally accepting yourself until one day you believe it.
