When I compete, other aspects in life tend to take a back seat, and the show takes priority.
The first thing that typically goes for me is training for my helicopter license.. with the combination of more cardio and strict dieting - I find it much harder to retain new information... and let's be honest, nobody wants a hungry, tired, student pilot operating a helicopter..
I've learned that it's okay to cut back and take breaks when needed and necessary. Being ambitious is a great quality to possess, but at the same time, knowing your limit so you don't crash and burn is also necessary.
It's been a little while since I've flown, but thanks to a few days of higher carbs, (thank you coach!!! @coachmattallen ) I feel confident (and energized) to be climbing back into the pilots seat this week!! (Weather pending of course)
I can't wait to fly! 🚁
