Today's rain held off til we finished up lunch and some batting practice with the tribe! It was such a wonderful day hanging with the most important men in my life; my dad, my husband and our 6 sons.
I couldn't ask for a better man to raise 6 boys with. My husband has a way of gently leading these guys with compassion, humility, forgiveness, authority and an unconditional love. Watching him parent, guide, and instruct our boys according to the Word has been a delight. It isn't always easy, but we serve a great big God who can carry us through each storm life has to offer and I wouldn't choose anyone else to go through those storms with.
My dad's heart for selfless serving and humbly guiding in such a way with his unwavering faith are more than I could have ever asked for as a daughter. He has taught me so much with few words and much character. He is such a God fearing man that I may not have appreciated growing up, but is everything a child needs and I so appreciate that now. He has my respect in more ways than I can even express and I am so thankful for the example he is to not only me but my entire family.
My thoughts are all over the place with this post as I think of just how blessed I am with such great men in my life. One thing I know for sure is that we are not raising boys but men. I can only hope that these examples of great fathers we have in our lives will leave an impact on our sons but most importantly that they will grow to know, love, and serve their Heavenly Father who is a father to the fatherless and the greatest example of unconditional love there ever was. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
