While every #HappyTails is special, this particular one has been a long time coming! After months of hard work with our trainers and dedicated foster, Jess, our favorite long boy, and professional heart-stealer, Armstrong aka Armie, found his #ForeverFamily. ❤️ Armie came to join our #MuddyPawsPack earlier this year, and he originally was adopted in a heartbeat thanks to his handsome face. But Armie is a bit of a nervous nellie and some trouble with leash reactivity and took a little extra loving to warm up to new people, so it ultimately didn't work out with his first family. After he was returned, we placed Armie with one of our most wonderful fosters, and along with the help of a trainer, they would spend the next few months working hard to help Armie become the best dog he could be.
Finally one day, his forever mom, Rhen, saw him and it was love at first sight. Our team explained that Armie would need a home outside of the craziness of NYC to help ease his reactivity, and Rhen was committed to being the best-dedicated dog mom for Armie. During their first meeting, she spent time getting to know him for an hour until he felt confident enough to approach her. From there, Rhen took him home for a foster-to-adopt trial period, and the rest is history.
Today, Armie is in love with his new home and is so grateful for Jess and Rhen's help for allowing him to come out of his shell. He's a total snuggle bug, making friends in the park, smothering his mom with kisses, and running around like a maniac until his little corgi legs give out. Rhen continues to stimulate his doggie brain, taking him on structured walks, working with our trainer in Queens, and helping him figure out how to navigate this weird world day by day.
Thanks to Rhen's incredible dedication to helping him become comfortable in new situations, Armstrong can finally focus on the essential things in every dog's life; how to steal belly rubs from as many people as possible and the perfect comfy spot in his home to nap. 💕
