WHEEEEEEkend! Yeah! 💛
Here is the final version of my little character (loosely based off of myself, well spotted @chelseagracei 😂). Maybe not the “final” version though, haha—My style is always evolving, and I definitely want to come back to her again! I really miss drawing these derpy little characters sometimes! I forgot to include a few details due to complete exhaustion tbh, but overall I really ran with those concept sketches! This version was illustrated in Procreate, and it gave me a chance to test out a whole bunch of new brushes that I bought a while back too. This was a fun little break from my current projects and really helped me replenish those inspiration juices! 💗

First pancakes! 🥞
If you’ve ever cooked pancakes at home, you know that the first ones are always a test batch to get the heat and cooking time right. I’m still working on loosening up and getting more experimental in my sketchbooks—here are the “first pancakes” in my new @moleskine watercolor album! Still a bit formal as far as sketches go, so I will keep working on being looser about what I commit to the panca—I mean page. And now I’m hungry. 🤤😄

I’ve been feeling a bit like The Invisible Woman lately, but doing my best to keep pushing on. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out yesterday with kind and encouraging words (and 🍫)! Instead of giving in to feelings of defeat, I was able to turn to my sketchbook and draw some portraits—it’s one of my favorite practices, and very cathartic for me. And doesn’t this piece just make you so excited for #Inktober to start in less than two weeks?! I’m also juggling a few different projects at the moment, and getting pumped as I see them starting to come together! It’s nice to be able to look forward to finally sharing them with you all soon!

I don’t usually hop onto social media to rant, but I am such a grump-opotamus today and none of my usual mood-boosters are doing the trick! It has just been one thing after another since Saturday. To top it off, I am still swimming upstream against IG’s algorithm. I haven’t had such low engagement since....2016?! I’ve had followers straight-up tell me they don’t even see my posts in their feed. After all the hard work I put into my business, how frustrating is that! Maybe you can relate, maybe not, but thanks for being here all the same! (Or not...if this one doesn’t show up in your feed, either. 😑)
