Constance, age 12: "I was attacked by members of the armed group Kokodikoko. Once they arrived, they cut down the bridge which links our village to the nearest settlement. I went to hide in the forest, but they had torches and easily found me. They tortured me and dragged me onto the field, and two men raped me. They locked me up with all of the other women and locked the men in another house. They removed the women one by one and raped them, then they looted everything in our village, burned down the houses, and marched us into the forest. We had to walk with our rapists for three days before they were attacked by another militia group, and we managed to escape.” This #GivingTuesday, join our team of rapid response heroes as they provide emergency medical and psychosocial care to survivors of mass rapes in the DRC.
