#tbt to that time I was profiled in the book, “ONE SQUARE MILE: The History of Roosevelt NY from a Autobiographical Perspective”, by Sheldon Parrish.
It is a privilege to be noted among other notable Velt alumni such as Eddie Murphy, Public Enemy, Julius ‘Dr. J’ Erving, Howard Stern, Aaron Hall of Guy, and more.
The book profiles me as one of the founders (arguably the mastermind and sole founder) of the Roosevelt Alumni Association, Inc.
Although the author and dear friend, Sheldon Parrish, transitioned into pure positive energy, his book is still available.

#throwback to my very first business headshot. I had just won a grant through the Suffolk County Women’s Business Enterprise Coalition where I later served as Director of Information Technology and starting to generate buzz and a kind photographer threw this compliment in with the award.

I don’t think my #dad ever saw this article where A. J. Carter, a #reporter for Long Island Newsday, wrote about my acceptance speech citing my dad as my inspiration for the Long Island Software and Technology Network’s Diamond Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit. 💻

A.J. wrote: "Those who attended did get to hear some moving remarks from Keisha [Keshia] Richmond who won in the entrepreneurial spirit category. Richmond explained how she got her inspiration from her father, who lost a leg in a workplace accident yet still managed to become a fifth degree blackbelt in karate and open a karate studio. She noted how she built her technology consulting firm while attending college and starting out with large firms. ' I never, ever thought that what I was doing was as an entrepreneur," she said. I thought that what I was doing was a second job."

My dad, GrandMaster Roy Richmond III, a trans-tibial #amputee and 10th degree black belt, pioneered martial arts movements for the disabled.

With his movements, an immobile person lying down or sitting in a chair could defend themselves or render their attacker defenseless.

Although, Tae Kwon Do was his speciality, he was trained and instructed in Aikia and trained with martial arts masters, Joe Lewis, George Alexander, Michael de Pasquale, Bill “Superfoot” Wallace and George Dillman.

He was the founder, owner and operator of Richmond Tae Kwon
Do in Bluefield, West Virginia and
Tazewell Tae Kwon Do Dog Pound in Tazewell, VA and known across the country.

His dojo, located on Main Street in downtown Bluefield was a staple there for decades. His dojo shared retail space with his other business Richmond Photography.

My dad was expertly proficient with nunchucks, chopping concrete, wood, and flaming wooden boards with his bare hands.

Shortly after his death, his young protégé, Master Kasey Addair, created a tribute video of my father.

Happy Father’s Day!

Hello there. #tbt

At the height of Prom Guide, there were twelve (12) regional editions distributed in high schools across the country. In 2014 they were consolidated into four (4). These lovely ladies were our cover model search finalists that year.

I was the editor then and had than less than 24 hours to come up with a way to cover them without having met or interviewed them.

I know exactly what you tryin’ to do! 👃👀👂👁💅🕵🏽‍♀️🔮 Yes!

Still getting feels from pitching to my girl last week, today, on senior day. She’s on to pro ball with the Chicago Bandits and I’m a proud mom. 😍❤️👶🏽

The first #photoshoot I ever produced. Our first #celebrity cover with Cherry Tree recording artist, Skylar Stecker, best known for her album ‘This is Me’. Photographer Lisa Ramsey captured these amazing images and I can’t wait to work with her again for New York Fashion Week in September!
