This week, we added the Pirate Training Packet 2 to our library. The four plans in this series are mission-specifically designed as day-to-day programming for Air Force Special Tactics, Marine Reconnaissance, and Raiders, Navy SEAL’s and EOD, SF Dive Teams, Rescue Swimmers, BORSTAR, etc. 
It is a follow up to our Pirate Training Packet 1 of plans for these types of tactical athletes. We built these plans following requests from multiple tactical athletes who had completed the first set of Pirate plans and wanted more. 
Each plan is scheduled for training 5 days/week, for 7 weeks. Week 7 of each plan is an unload/taper week, meaning the plans can be run back to back.

MTI's Fall Dryland Cycle for Backcountry and Alpine Skiing, Ice Climbing and Rock Climbing will start Monday, October 1st. ▪️Intense programming designed for professional athletes or high level recreational skiers, alpinists and climbers. ▪️No cost, but a 7 week, 4 day/week commitment is required. ▪️These will be 7-week cycles, 4 days/week (Mon-Thurs) and conclude the week before Thanksgiving. ▪️Two session times will be offered, 6am and 7am., Mon-Thur. Again, we'll start Monday, Oct. 1.

A study from the University of Copenhagen found that just 2 weeks of inactivity in a limb can lead to a 33% loss in strength – a decline which was equated to aging 40-50 years. The study’s disheartening news didn’t stop there. The researchers also found that the fitter the individual the quicker they lost muscle mass. And if that wasn’t bad enough, according to the study, it also takes about three times as long to recover the lost strength. Facing such bleak statistics, it is no wonder why so many athletes attempt to rush back into training. One thing we have always recommended to our athletes is to train around the injury while seeking proper medical treatment (surgery, physical therapy, etc.). One of them - the Burpee Beep Ladder Assessment:

This is pretty terrible and in our work with lab rats, only a couple have managed to make it past level 6 on this test. Real quick, this is an every minute on the minute assessment. The first minute you do 10x burpees, 12x the second minute, 14x the third minute, etc. until you can’t get the prescribed reps within the minute time frame. Unlike barbell strength training, it’s more difficult to work up to a 1 Repetition Maximum on a particular lift with kettlebells/dumbbells. As well, the single limb element simply makes them “heavier”. For example, I can easily do a hang squat clean with a 145 pound barbell, but don’t ask me to try to do the same with a pair of 32kg kettlebells (approx 144 pounds total) or a pair of 75# dumbbells …. QUESTION
Hello, I would like to be put on the fast track to being an outdoor educator (NOLS specifically). I am 50 yrs old and need to start from scratch. A desk job almost killed me a few years back. I’m at least 30 lbs overweight and do not have access to a gym. I have dumbbells and plenty of land to roam on.
What would be my best option that you could provide? Thank you for your time.

Start with the Bodyweight Foundation Training Plan, and follow it up with SF45 Delta.
