New crop coffee from Selva Negra Estate in Nicaragua will be hitting this weekend, available by the bag or by the cup! Selva Negra is our longest running direct trade relationship, we've been buying directly from the family since 2011. This picture was taken of Nadav trying out the rake at the drying platforms outside their dry mill when we visited the farm in 2013. Look for balance, brightness and the famous butterscotch note in the cup.

New crop EA Decaf from Colombia just hit today! Its juicy, balanced and delicious. If you haven't tried our decaf before, you'll be in for a surprise. Decaffeinated using ethyl acetate (EA) naturally derived, a byproduct of molasses manufacturing. Spoiler alert - it actually tastes like good coffee you want to drink.

New direct trade coffee on the wall today and featured this weekend! Check out the new Legacy Farms hard fermentation honey process. New direct-trade coffee delivered by the coffee farmers themselves! Ashley and his son John from Legacy Farms in Cerro Bueno, Honduras delivered coffee for us today. We got some experimental fermentation honey process, it is going to be fruity! Look for it on the shelf and online store soon. .
As a side-note, the only coffees we call direct trade are those where we buy direct from the coffee farmers themselves. We have lots of other coffees we buy through a variety of sources, some more direct than others. The goal is to always buy ridiculously good greens and lovingly roast them.

We believe coffee education should start early.

This weekend we are featuring two fresh crop coffees from Guatemala with completely different cup characteristics! Finca Nueva Grenada from San Marcos (chocolate bomb, sweet and big-bodied) and Finca Urias from Antigua (intense acidity, honeysuckle and jasmine floral notes).

We are doing flights of these, with the third cup of the flight either a flash blend of the two, or a single-origin espresso shot of either option. Taste the rainbow!
