don’t look for love, look for coffee ☕️ ⁣

did you know that your ideal water to coffee ratio should be 1.5 to 1 JUST to break even! coffee is a major diuretic, which means if you aim to drink 70oz of water per day, you’ll need 94oz after that ONE 16oz Starbucks cup!😳⁣

last week I spent 3 days posted up in bed with severe stomach pain thinking I had some sort of virus, only come to find out I was just severely dehydrated 🤦🏻‍♀️ if you’re anything like me, coffee isn’t about the caffeine this time of year... it’s purely about sipping something warm all day long, which can spiral to painful dehydration quickly. so what do we do? i’ve spent this week cutting back on the coffee and experimenting. ⁣

here’s what I’ve of both worlds👌🏼⁣
- heat some water (I microwave a mug of water for 2 minutes) & add @braggs apple cider vinegar with a sprinkle of cinnamon (THIS IS AMAZINGGG!) ⁣
- hot water & lemon⁣
- hot water & pink lemonade emergenC⁣

last week i read an article which really hit home, about the difference between body positivity & body acceptance. ⁣
often times i get discouraged bc here i am preaching body positivity & self love when I myself don’t necessarily feel positively about every aspect of my body every single day. ⁣
I feel like a fraud.⁣

but what i’m realizing is that I am just human... ⁣
body acceptance is about respect & making peace with our bodies. ⁣
some days I look in the mirror and i’m just not feeling it... ⁣
other days I’m Sasha Fierce 💃🏻⁣

so no, you don’t have to love & flaunt your imperfections, but you DO have to believe that you are worthy despite them! xoxo #embracingherstrength

even when you don’t feel like it. ⁣

wouldn’t it be cool if our society idolized the body for its strength & function instead of for its size & shape? ⁣

u n p l u g // over the last year i’ve done a lot of detoxing... ⁣⁣
from negative energy to toxic relationships⁣ to alcohol & sugar...⁣⁣
now it’s time to add SCREEN TIME to my list⁣📱⁣
last week I looked at my screen time breakdown (iphone setting) & was sick to my stomach with how much time I waste scrolling through other people’s lives, comparing myself, and questioning my worth & my message🤦🏻‍♀️⁣
so i decided enough is enough. inspired by my girl @nutritionsqueezed, I am starting an Unplugged Challenge through the month of January & inviting you to join me!! i’ll be limiting my social media time to 90min per day (iphone allows you to set app limits) and taking at least one day completely off of all social media.⁣⁣
the purpose of this challenge is to be more present, focused on goals, and avoid negative energy. I plan to stay active but i will use this platform intentionally to spread messages of positivity instead of mindlessly scrolling, questioning my worth & wasting hours of valuable time. ⁣⁣

w a r n i n g // these books will change your life 📚 ⁣

i walked into 2018 with a goal to read 7 books... & i’m walking out of 2018 half way through my 12th. i was never much of a reader growing up, but in a year filled with adversity, these books were my escape. they helped make sense of the chaos & provided comfort through some of the hardest days of my life. all of these are highly recommended, but my #1 has to be Girl Wash Your Face by @msrachelhollis 🙌🏼 ⁣

christmas 2018 was one for the books & my heart has never been so full. this year has been a rollercoaster to say the least, but through the ups and the downs i am so grateful for my rocks - my friends, my family, and of course the puppy - i can’t thank you all enough. the girl walking out of 2018 is not the same girl who walked in and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the new year ✨⁣
