This isn’t a fancy picture, but for me it’s a meaningful one. As I wrap up my 26th go around the sun, I wanted to share something I found a few months ago. In middle school, we had a goal project and apparently 14-year-old me had her sights set on traveling the world (and on italicizing, bolding, and underlining each word she wrote). Today, I am beaming with pride to say that through hard work, determination, and a lot of caffeine, I made my dreams a reality (and thankfully improved my writing as well).
Turning 27 is weird and 26 was an absolute whirlwind; it took me from the cultural depths of Indonesia, to the freezing cities of Eastern Europe, to the even colder Arctic tundra, back to Europe, and on several road trips across the U.S.A. (Yes, my wallet is a little mad, but my heart is pretty happy.) Plus, I moved cities, landed a career in the travel industry, moved again, and have a built a sweet little life surrounded by friends - both old and new.
Proper adulting is overwhelming at times, so it’s nice to sit back and see that I’m actually doing alright. More than that, I’m doing pretty damn great.
All of this has me reminiscing and reflecting on my adventures, so over the next few weeks I’d like to post my favorite photo/memory from each country I have visited (all 30 of ‘em!), as well as what brought me there. But first, a little birthday weekend in SF is in order! 🙃
