Caitlin Moore  I go places and do things 📍| Seattle, WA

I haven’t posted in awhile, so in light of the cold here in Seattle, here’s one of me awkwardly in front of flamingos on a sunny day

Spent the day in the conservatory and, in the words of Seattle’s very own Sir Mix-A-Lot, I’m hooked and I can’t stop staring

Thought I’d see this bridge shrouded in its infamous fog, but with the sunniest weekend in SF, I must’ve just mist it.

This isn’t a fancy picture, but for me it’s a meaningful one. As I wrap up my 26th go around the sun, I wanted to share something I found a few months ago. In middle school, we had a goal project and apparently 14-year-old me had her sights set on traveling the world (and on italicizing, bolding, and underlining each word she wrote). Today, I am beaming with pride to say that through hard work, determination, and a lot of caffeine, I made my dreams a reality (and thankfully improved my writing as well).⁣⁣
Turning 27 is weird and 26 was an absolute whirlwind; it took me from the cultural depths of Indonesia, to the freezing cities of Eastern Europe, to the even colder Arctic tundra, back to Europe, and on several road trips across the U.S.A. (Yes, my wallet is a little mad, but my heart is pretty happy.) Plus, I moved cities, landed a career in the travel industry, moved again, and have a built a sweet little life surrounded by friends - both old and new. ⁣⁣
Proper adulting is overwhelming at times, so it’s nice to sit back and see that I’m actually doing alright. More than that, I’m doing pretty damn great. ⁣⁣
All of this has me reminiscing and reflecting on my adventures, so over the next few weeks I’d like to post my favorite photo/memory from each country I have visited (all 30 of ‘em!), as well as what brought me there. But first, a little birthday weekend in SF is in order! 🙃

Sad to see summer wind down, but ready for my favorite season to be in full swing 🍃🍂⁣

Tried to write a nice caption, but this place always leaves me speechless

That’s a nice range of color

Not pictured: The 90° scramble to get here and the subsequent bear-deterring song and dance on the way down in the dark⁣⁣
I love the pictures of ridiculously beautiful places, but I’m also a pretty big fan of the “not-pictured” parts, too⁣⁣
(Also love that @disa always makes me look cooler than I am, and that she sings with me to keep the bears away 🐻)

Finally wrote about Bryce Canyon and realized I never posted pictures of this magical little place.. Buckle up, Utah pictures are coming in hot

Fun Fact: This weekend was my first solo backpacking trip!

Multiple people had asked what brought me, specifically as a young woman, to hike and camp alone in the mountains. This was followed by many, “good for you!” and “that’s amazing!” comments. I know everyone comes from a good place, but it really makes me look forward to the day when solo female travel isn’t something to gawk at and praise, but rather is the norm. So shout out to my fellow female adventurers - stay brave, stay curious, stay wild.

The sky caught fire and then completely extinguished itself in about a 4 minute span, but we’re still all smiles (mostly because beer)
