Monday morning inspiration in the pink peony in my garden that will surely become an abstract painting later this week. Since moving out of the city I find my inspiration comes from nature more and more. After years of living in Manhattan and thriving off of that endless kinetic energy, the noises of the street and the constant buzz all around, I've found that what moves me most is the quiet sound of leaves rustling in a breeze, the colors of our garden and the way the light falls across the river throughout the day. I never knew I needed that until I had it. Don't get me wrong, I miss the noise and the movement sometimes but most days I don't need it as much as I thought I did. I'm all for finding joy in simple things lately...especially these days when the world is as upside and backwards as it seems.
