Molly Sugar  Organizer @friends.on.bikes ✌🏾 Co-organizer @wtfbikexplorers ✨ Designer @ridewithgps 🤓

I was about to post these photos five days ago and talk about how challenging and beautiful this ride around Saddle Mountain was. But then I got a call about my close friend SJ passing away. It’s been one of the most challenging weeks of my life - trying to juggle @friends.on.bikes, @wtfbikexplorers, the media sensationalism and maintaining privacy - while all just going through emotions. This post started with the first photo but it’s really the last one that’s changed my life. In honor of SJ, the community has raised over $6k for the @wtfbikexplorers scholarships. That’s SJ bringing us together. So cheers to remembering a friend and to remembering to keep your friends and loved ones close ❤️

Exactly one year ago @ridewithgps paid for my bike aka silver fox aka other bae. Since then I’ve gone on too many bike adventures to count. I’m fortunate to have a job that supports my endeavors but not everyone is in that position. With that said... excited to announce that @wtfbikexplorers are offering FIVE scholarships for those who identify as women, trans, femme and non-binary. THREE recipients will receive bikes from @iamspecialized_adv or @bikeworks206! Scholarships cover the bikexplorers summit ticket, lodging, travel, bags from @revelatedesigns and more. This is a super rad opportunity not to be missed. More info in bio 👈🏾

If you’d like to support, we are also raising more $ for the scholarships on GoFundMe. Info also in the same link. Keep supporting one another ✌🏾

Derp, design and cycling goal achieved, finally got to design some cycling caps 😬 ty @ridewithgps for the creative freedom and @doubledarn for the quality work. 🙏🏽

Yearbook photos for class of Ladies Shred the Schutes 2018. Thanks @pink_alien123 for keeping the Deschutes campout tradition alive. 🌿

My favorite gravel ride within 30 min from Portland. Climb up Pumpkin Ridge to overgrown Smoke Ranch, down Dixie Mountain and end at Rogue Brew Pub. 🌿🍻

Get yer Boy Bye pins from @scrappy_cat cuz Beyoncé. ✌🏾#boybye

Binge watched Wild Wild Country and then @omtm.cc posted up a bike route through Rajneeshee land so @scrappy_cat and I made a camping version out of it - 55 miles and 6,600 ft of climbing through pristine gravel and dirt roads, bizarro Christian compounds with water slides, an abandoned Rajneeshee airstrip and a secluded campground along the John Day River. ✨ #rajneeshpuram

Been focused the last few weeks on @friends.on.bikes and @wtfbikexplorers. Last night talked on a panel about Designing for Good and shared my experience about intersecting design, organizing and cycling. Felt good to talk about the behind the scenes work that goes into trying to create change. It takes a lot of late nights and support from @scrappy_cat and friends.💓 Lots of fun projects to be announced soon. ✌🏾 .

Super proud of my partner in crime and favorite @scrappy_cat, who made this year’s Swift Campout illustrations and swag for @swiftindustries. We’ll be doing a campout around Portland, not sure exactly where yet but it’ll involve a route on @ridewithgps and lots of donut POIs. Friends come join us 🍩✌🏾 #swiftcampout

Told a bunch of folks I was doing Japanese Hollow... just with a smaller crew the next day 🙃 Beautiful route along windy gravel roads, blue streams, almost bloomed tree groves and lots of animals - chasing baby cows, dogs sleeping next to sheep, pack of turkeys, a lone llama, flying eagles and cats eating squirrels. #aprilfools #japanesehollowv2

Another great weekend with bae in sunny eastern Oregon at Cottonwood Canyon State Park - from biking on double track and grass and gravel, to using their free rental bikes to ride around the campgrounds, skipping rocks along the John Day River, only seeing one other human along the entire trail and driving back to Portland through endless fields of wind farms.

Deschutes river trail - my favorite quick, scenic and dry place to ride if it’s gonna rain in Portland - abandoned rail cars, abandoned ranches, cows walking through tunnels, mule deer running on the canyons, glamping opportunities at the state park and not too many folks on the trail this time of year.
