🇬🇧🇺🇸 The winner cocktail of the second "Rabo de Galo" contest, hosted by @mestrederivan and @djulio_barman.
The cocktail, won by Paulo Leite, from @emporiosagarana , besides the traditional ingredients, also had in its composition an... ANT! 🐜 🙀 .

The "Rabo de Galo" cocktail was created in the 1950s. The idea came from Cinzano, who was coming to Brazil and sensed that joining his vermouth with cachaça would enhance the popularization of the brand. In a precise shot, the company even developed a little glass with marks indicating the amounts of vermouth and cachaça to be mixed. The drink - baptized as a nice translation of the term "cock tail", fell to the taste of Brazilians.

Some local bartenders, like @mestrederivan, are trying to introduce the Rabo de Galo as an official cocktail on IBA (International Bartenders Association).

O coquetel "Rabo de Galo" foi criado na década de 1950. A idéia veio da Cinzano, que estava vindo para o Brasil e sentiu que unir seu vermute à cachaça melhoraria a popularização da marca. Em um tiro preciso, a empresa até desenvolveu um copinho com marcas que indicam a quantidade de vermute e cachaça a serem misturados. A bebida - batizada como uma boa tradução do termo “Cocktail”, caiu no gosto dos brasileiros.

Alguns bartenders locais, como o @mestrederivan, estão tentando introduzir o Rabo de Galo como um coquetel oficial na IBA (International Bartenders Association).

¤ 20 ml lemon juice

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a blackberry.

'Bonnie & Clyde', by @mix_o_logic, made for the new cocktail menu at @thejuniper44 - São Paulo.

'The outlawed couple marked the wave of bank robberies between 1920 and 1930. Bonnie was a big fan of Bourbon Whiskey and cigarettes, often throwing bottles of liquor out of the car window while Clyde fled the police. Always on the alert, Clyde dodged the Alcohol to be prepared in case of flight.

This drink was inspired by a classic pre-prohibition cocktail, called Rickey or Bourbon Rickey, a tribute to Colonel Joe Rickey, a veteran of the American Civil War and first published in 1935 in the book Old Mr. Boston DeLuxe Bartender's Guide.

In this twist, the acidic characteristic of the lemon was replaced by the shrub - increasing the aroma and creating greater complexity in the palate.

Shrubs were hugely popular during the Prohibition in America, it was drunk as an alcohol substitute for its characteristic 'kick'...
