Today, my little sister stood up for herself after being sexually harassed at school. With everything going on these days and the amount of victim shame that takes place, words cannot describe how proud I am given such adversity. High school is already rough enough, we don’t need our young women growing up in a world that thinks it’s okay to violate her temple.
Repost “No means no and stop means to fucking stop. It doesn’t matter what your relationship with the person is or how close you are, if someone says stop then you need to stop.
In this day and age of social media, things get taken out of perspective and you judge and form opinions off of what you see on your phone screen. A 12 second video cannot tell you how a person feels.
In this climate, women can still be slut shamed when a man takes advantage of her - that in this day and age a man, no a boy, can appear to be blameless when physically, mentally, and verbally harassing a woman.
If it’s “cool” to have nothing better to do than slut shame a peer, then so be it. If you don’t believe no means no, then so be it. If a snake becomes the symbol for standing up for women - their bodies and minds - I’m here for it.
