This prep has been every but smooth sailing.. there have been highs and lows. From feeling on top to laying in a hospital bed second guessing my ability to get on stage. but now we are nearly at the finish line πŸ€— With only 22 days to go it’s safe to say the nerves are kicking in πŸ™ˆanddd so are the weird comp dreams πŸ˜… can not wait to not only see everyone on that stage but to share the experience with my amazing coach @carla_d_fit_pt and best friend @emlouisebaker_pt because if you don’t WBFF together are you even really friends πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜œ Happy Friyayyyy πŸ’œπŸ˜πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ˜˜

The face you make when you’re about to start your 20 day depletion πŸ˜…πŸ˜ˆ coach @carla_d_fit_pt is about to take away all flavouring from my foods. No stevia. No spices. No amino acids. just salt, pepper and fresh herbs. Cardio has increased. Water intake is being strictly monitored and NEAT steps are increasing weekly. Let’s do this πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ’― I only have 22 more training sessions left on this prep ! πŸ™ˆπŸ’ͺ🏻 even tho comp prep will come to a end - I am already planning my next step post comp and areas I want to improve. Writing down my goals and what I would do differently next time. This is all a journey and part of the journey is learning from my experiences so I can improve and better the future me 😊 Already I’ve addressed a lot of health issues and problems I was pushing to the side pre-comp prep. Today I had my routine bloods done and my HBA1C level has gone down 1.4% since the start of prep ! A HBA1C is a blood test for diabetics which shows what your average blood sugar level has been for the past 3 months.. I have been trying to reduce this for a while after taking a bad turn with my sugar levels so this is a massive win for me πŸ˜…πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’― yayyy Happy Monday x

Spring/summer just have the best vibe 😍 ... living in central QLD my whole life I never could appreciate the seasons. It was always hot or hot and humid πŸ˜… so I grew up loving the cold because I rarely felt it. At the moment my current skin care products I’ve been using is from the @m.eskincare range. All their products are vegan and organic πŸ™ŒπŸ» since using their products my skin has improved so much ! There is no nasties, animal cruelty free and my skin is always left feeling fresh AF 🀀@m.eskincare is also made here in Victoria ! ... Beauty πŸ’Ž ... I honestly will not leave the house without my lipstick πŸ™ˆit’s just one thing I need in my life. So I started using @milinski_cosmetic matte lipsticks. I was hesitant swapping my Jeffery star lipsticks to another brand but honestly Milinski’s range are longer lasting, more hydrating and their colours are amazing. Happy Sunday and Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there ! ✌🏽 one of the questions you get asked a lot whilst prepping is β€˜how do you stay motivated’ for me personally it’s the mirror. I am my biggest motivation. Very cliche I know πŸ™„ but it’s so true - I never want to allow my body or health to go back to where it was. There is nothing more rewarding and self motivating then the changes you see by looking in the mirror. I have been training for 7 years now and through all the ups and downs never saw quitting as an option because if you give up completely there is no hope for change. I went from normal weight to eating disorder/cardio bunny right back up to over weight battling uncontrolled diabetes and hormonal issues. It may have taken me this long however I chose to do it on my own up until 8 weeks ago when I met @carla_d_fit_pt and those 8 weeks my body has changed more then it ever did over the 7 years πŸ˜… reason? I was under eating. Over training. And eating food that was causing an inflammatory response in my body and in return made me more insulin resistant and retain fluid / bloating. In saying that my diet was always strict and clean however foods like chicken breast, broccoli, almonds and way too many more to list actually don’t agree with me. This prep has been such an enjoyable experience and I am actually loving every minute of it. I think you are either born to prep or not and I was born for it 😜 these next coming weeks should be the biggest challenge so let’s see what they bring πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜˜πŸ’œ ..

DIABETICS: I get asked a lot by all my diabetic followers how I manage my blood sugars during training. I personally am a frantic tester. I will test my sugars before, during and after training.. multiple times πŸ˜….. I also always have glucose tablets on hand 24/7, a bottle of nutrient water and a fresh piece of fruit πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ Last night I was approaching a low whilst trying to meet my daily steps. Coming into the final weeks of comp prep it’s so important to keep my macros on point and also hit my NEAT targets. So when I go into a hypo this can be difficult. When the body is under stress it will release glycogen. For me - HIIT training sends my sugars higher so I use this to my advantage. Instead of walking (which drops them) I did a 5-10min running which helped bring my sugars back up without the need of extra calories/sugar πŸ˜ˆπŸ’œ once I was comfortable with my sugar reading I was able to continue my training. This is something I have found works for me - everyone responds differently however if I am already in a hypo I would most definitely consume a couple of glucose tablets prior. πŸ’œ
