Professor Paul Schmitt @professorschmitt embodies The Very Best of Skateboarding and he Illuminates Everything around him with that Light. The Good Stuff is Contagious, it’s Infectious and it Opens the Doors for all kinds of Exciting and Meaningful Possibilities. Case in Point, yesterday @greghigginsart and I met up with Paul in his Workshop and it was a moment of Great Energy, the confluence of many years of interconnections all meeting at the same place and time for the very first time. Truly Good Vibrations!
In that moment, Paul remembered that he had stashed away some old blemished New Deal Mammoth Boards from 1991, with just a white pass of the graphic screen printed on the bottom. These Boards had been sitting in storage for 26 years and now, the Original Manufacturer, the Original Artist and the Original Skater of those Boards were all in the same room for the first time and and here were these unfinished Boards in our hands. It just clicked. Greg should Hand Draw the Mammoth Graphic over the white pass… Now all we needed were some paint pens. Fear not, Paul just happened to have some in his truck that Andy Howell @andyhowell43 had used previously on a project, and wouldn’t you know it, it was Andy Howell that had recruited Greg Higgins to do my Mammoth Graphic for New Deal in the first place.
While Paul and I worked on some new @streetplantbrnd shapes, Greg got busy drawing the Mammoth. And as many times as I’ve worked with Paul in his Workshop, the Energy in the room had never been this Powerful… It was like Chain Lighting spreading from person to person, moment to moment. Sparks flying everywhere.
When we were done, the 3 of us signed the Mammoth Board and Rob Wallace @robxwallace who was also there and a participant in all of this, snapped this photo, and then we all went on with our day… Completely Resonating with the Spirit of The Art Of Skateboarding!
Skate. Create. Enjoy!

Thank you Paul, Greg, Andy and Rob!
