It’s turkey season in Missouri and my good friend Bob Nosler is in town for the opening days, with me serving as his guide.
Late Monday morning this tom came in from our left, but Bob was sitting on the right side of the blind. No problem, the tom was in range and still coming toward the decoy - out front; we would just wait.
Suddenly he turned into the woods to our left - big problem. Bob tried to get on him, but the bird was walking steadily, in light brush. Soon Bob handed me the gun and said “you shoot him”. And so I did! My tag is now full; but Tuesday we’ll try again - for Bob.
