“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha
Self-love is not narcissism. It is a state of appreciation for yourself. An expression of kindness to your body, mind & soul.
We all have a demon(s) living inside of us. And it's all up to us if we choose to allow them to stay and knock us down or choose to be the best cheerleader we can ever be for ourselves.
Today and always, I choose the latter.
Treat yourself. Feed your soul with compassion, respect and kindness for yourself. Do what makes you happy! Treating yourself to short term happiness in external sources such as retail therapy, excessive drinking or lavish dinners just won't cut it. After all that, your dissatisfied self will still be chasing for more unnecessary, pointless highs. To treat yourself, is to truly nourish oneself from within. Unfold that core of what makes you the best that you can be! Unravelling life's potential is an endless discovery with yourself. Bring out the best in you to find good in everything and everyone, enjoy this school of life while you're still healthy and able.
You are YOU, and that's enough. Life is one shot, so make this lifetime the best one you'll ever have.
TL;DR: Have you been good to yourself today? 💗 What're your self-love mantras? How do you love yourself? 💗
