Sheila Moore, y’all!

MP: Who do you admire? Why?
SM: I admire my teacher Jenn Chiarelli. I studied with Jenn in Arizona and completed my 200 YTT with her. She inspires me to be authentic and to explore the gifts within myself and share them with others. Through her guidance, I have become the yoga teacher that I am.
MP: What is your favorite pose and why?
SM: It’s hard to pick just one! I guess Natarajasana, Dance Pose is one of my favorites. I love the grace and beauty of the posture. It’s a multi tasking posture…shoulder opener, hip opener, heart opener, quad stretch, and balance all rolled into one!

MP: What is your most meaningful training to date or where have you trained?
SM: Most of my training has been in AZ. My most meaningful learning experience to date is a retreat in Costa Rica. Jenn (my AZ teacher) led the retreat. I met some amazing yogis, and connecting with the beauty of the island enhanced the joy!

MP: What is your favorite book?
SM: I’m and avid reader, generally reading book a week. It’s too hard to pick one, so I’ll share my favorite genres…contemporary fiction and historical fiction. My favorite series is Outlander by Dianna Gabaldon.
I just started watching it on Starz, and it’s very close to the actual books. My husband surprised me with the first four books of the series for Christmas years ago. I’ve read them all and can’t wait for the next one.

MP: What is your favorite song?
SM: Right now I have two, but i can’t choose an all time favorite. Colors by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Artists for Grenfell. I stumble across these while making my latest playlist and they’ve been on repeat since!

MP: What is your favorite “Yoga Gem?” SM: meditation bolster! I started 300YTT with Rolf Gates last month, and I’m really trying to find a strong meditation practice. The bolster makes sitting for long periods of time so much more comfortable!

MP: What is your favorite indulgence?
SM: Wine and Cheezits! My go to wind down treat after a crazy day!

MP: What classes do you teach at Melting Point and which is your favorite?
SM: Tuesday 9AM Core & More and Tuesday 6PM Deep Stretch. My favorite is Core.

HOT 26er of the day! Teacher Feature Lisa Moore!
MP: Who do you admire? Why?
LM: I admire many people especially our students for their dedication. Recently I have began to admire Lady Gaga for not just her music but for the way she shares her thoughts and life in her new documentary on Netflix. Very open and grounded individual which is refreshing to see from a celebrity.
MP: What is your favorite pose and why?
LM: My favorite pose is a backbend. I love the way it opens my upper body and sends energy to my spine and lower back!
MP: What is your most meaningful training to date or where have you trained?
LM: They have all been meaningful for different reasons. My first training with Yoga To The People in NYC was the first time I ever lived anywhere other than NC. It was 7 weeks and I learned so much about myself just being in the city and made the best friends through training. Two of my closest friends to this day came from that training. My yin certification was my first training with Lizzy Hoffman and she is just an amazing individual. That led me to her 200hr training where I really began to speak more truth about my thoughts and beliefs. It was a truly safe place to learn, discuss, and grow.

MP: What is your favorite book?
LM: My favorite book is The Power of Now that I am currently reading. And How to heal your life by Louise Hays.

MP: What is your favorite song?
LM: Specific Sunrise by 5j Barrow

MP: What is your favorite “Yoga Gem?” LM: Breathing ..all of it.. MP: What is your favorite indulgence?
LM: I am mostly Vegan so thank goodness for Salted Caramel Coconut milk "ice cream". My guilty pleasure.

MP: What classes do you teach at Melting Point and which is your favorite to teach?
LM: I teach the Hot 26 classes and a yin based deep stretch at The Melting Point. I really love them both!! The Yin and the Yang!!

We’re doubling up on the teacher feature because Maegen Powers is also in India with @shellbelle131 completing a 300 hour training! Wish both of our ladies a fantastic trip!

MP: Who do you admire? Why?
MP: The list of people I admire goes on and on, and I wouldn't want to leave anyone out. I admire people who follow their dreams and never give up on themselves. Motivated people truly inspire me.
MP: What is your favorite pose and why?
MP: Oh gosh, I have many favorite poses. If I had to list one, Bakasana (Crow pose) comes to mind. This is an amazing posture focusing on strength, power, and balance. The benefits of Bakasana strengthens your arms and wrists, as well as improves balance and full-body coordination.
MP: What is your most meaningful training to date or where have you trained? I embarked on my 200 hour YTT at Melting Point in 2015, life changing! In Nov 2017 I'm off to Rishikesh, India for my advanced 300 hour YTT.
MP: What is your favorite book?
MP: At the moment my favorite book is The Five Minute Journal. I highly recommend this book. This book inspires me to journal in the am and pm every day. Check it out!
MP: What is your favorite song?
MP: My favorite song changes often. Right now the song I've been really enjoying is Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man.
MP: What is your favorite “Yoga Gem?” MP: YIKES I dunno if I have a Yoga Gem.
MP: What is your favorite indulgence?
MP: Hallmark movies! I just love the sappy movies, even though most of them end the same way and you can predict what's going to happen and who's going to fall in love with who. They make my heart smile.
MP: What classes do you teach at Melting Point and which is your favorite to teach?
MP: I teach Hot Vinyasa at 8am on Saturdays, I sub classes whenever needed and I'm available. Since I only have one class, I've modifying the question to what part of the class is my favorite. Putting the cold clothes on everyone's foreheads at the end and seeing smiles and feeling the energy and gratitude throughout the room. This makes my heart smile, "sometimes" it's just the little things that really matter. With an emphasis on "sometimes".

MICHELLE WEST, y’all! Michelle is currently in India for a 300 hour training!

MP: Who do you admire? Why?
MW: My friend Tracy, she is the strongest person I know. Whatever she puts her mind to she makes happen. Any obstacles that arise she overcomes and is stronger for it. This has taught me to hang in there through all the tough times in my life. She is the most loyal, kind and loving person and I am grateful to have her in my life.
MP: What is your favorite pose and why?
MW: No surprise here, My favorite is wheel pose or dhanurasana. It is a balance of strength and flexibility which is one of the reasons I love it! I am always able to do a variation that challenges me but feels so great.

MP: What is your most meaningful training to date or where have you trained?
MW: I took a meditation workshop with Lizzy Hoffman at Melting Point earlier this year that changed my practice and teaching for the better. I am heading to India in a few weeks for a month of advanced studies and receiving my RYT-300 certification which I am very excited about too!
MP: What is your favorite book?
MW: The most recent non yoga book I've read lately that I loved was The Help

MP: What is your favorite song?
MW: It's hard to pick just one. One of my favorites is I'm just a girl by No Doubt. This was my first concert when I was a teenager and this song I remember specifically. Brings back great memories every time hear it :-) MP: What is your favorite “Yoga Gem?”
MW: To enjoy the journey...being patient and not rushing the process.
MP: What is your favorite indulgence?
MW: The beach...I love the ocean! Sound, feel, and smell! Makes me feel so peaceful ❤️ MP: What classes do you teach at Melting Point and which is your favorite to teach?
MW: Vinyasa 6AM Thursday and 8:30AM Friday I love them both but the 6AM took me by surprise how much I enjoy it since I've never loved getting up early but I love how everyone leaves with a smile 😁 even if they come in with their eyes half open. These yogis always make my day 🙏🏻
