Pre contest (2016 contest prep) VS offseason ( current stats in white bra/shorts). Does this count as #transformationtuesday ? Perhaps, perhaps not.
As usual , people are already commenting/passing rude comments on my weight gain.
I realised that over the years , I've become 'thick skin' to the point that I can actually let those words just slide off me. In the past, I would dread going to the gym because I know those negative comments were gonna come at me, but these days, I just walk in like I own it. πŸ’ͺ🏾 I have learnt to own my purpose, my choices and who I am beneath this physical body.
I know exactly what I am passionate about, what's really important to me and what my calling in life is.

So I just wanted to say that my calling, what's truly important and my passion in life isn't to be a bodybuilder. I love bodybuilding and fitness. But that's not my calling, that's just something I do. Not who I am.
And in knowing that truth, it has allowed me to be so rooted in who I truly am , with or without a 'great' body. *cue Dr Evil open & close inverted commas sign*
I know that I have the ability and knowledge to get my body shredded AF if I ever want to do it again. I also know that it really isn't that big a deal to me that I'm not.

Current body stats in off season.
Some days I feel great and totally comfortable with the extra weight gain. Some days I feel yucky and soft.
It's normal to have ups and downs. It's called being human. I don't let the bad days control me, in fact I choose to kick its ass!! The days that you feel crappy about yourself could be the day you totally own it. It's all boils down to making that choice. CHOOSING to shift your perspective and actually putting it into action.

People often ask me β€˜how do you get your abs to look like that?’
I 'diet' for it. By diet I mean my nutrition plan is created with the specific goal of reducing body fat.

You can NEVER out train a bad diet. If you want to be lean or have low body fat, you need to be very conscientious about what you eat. Unless you are one of those super blessed people with a raging metabolic rate, then… well, I hate you. (kidding!) I’m an endormorph. That means I put on muscles and fat easily and also have a hard time burning off the excess fat. Of course I am not lean and shredded all year round. This only happens when I am preparing for a contest which is what I’m not doing right now. My body needs a break from the extreme dieting for a contest,but I won’t go into that in this post.

The equation is THAT simple. Calories in versus calories out. Your muscles are created in such a way that it is β€˜hiding’ beneath that layer of fat. Abs are muscles right? So in order for them to show, you need to strip your body of the unwanted fat.
I focus primarily on strength training.
I have a system which I follow for building strength and muscles. I eat according to my goals. That’s what all of us need to do. EAT and TRAIN for YOUR goals.

For the record, I do not do 100000000 crunches. That is just a waste of time. Your abs is just like any other muscle group. If you want to build them, you need to start training them to grow. My favorite ab exercise is doing weighted sit ups on a decline bench. SO PLEASE, I’m begging you, don’t buy into the myth that by doing a hell lot of crunches, it means that you’re gonna get a 6 pack.

The formula to getting lean is really SIMPLE. It’s the execution that is challenging. Not many people have the determination, desire and discipline to pull it through.

I never said that the journey was going to be easy. Yes the formula is easy. To actually do it is not. But it can be done.
Stop looking for short cuts and the easy way out. It doesn’t exist. If you know what you want, and you want it BAD enough, let nothing stand in your way. Everything in your life is a reflection of the choice that you made. If you want a different result, make a different choice.

If you've been following me long enough, you should know I post both contest prep and ALSO my off season progress. I don't always look shredded and I'm fine with that. Of course there are some days that I miss being super lean.. but I am also aware that staying that lean is detrimental to my performance, strength and MENTAL health. πŸ˜‚

Even though I'm in my off season, I don't want to use this as an excuse to form any bad eating habits. I still enjoy my social life but I also want to keep track of my macros on the other 6 days of the week.

I totally let go during thanksgiving week.. well it is what it is..moving along. Back on track till Christmas! πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ’— .. This damn dog is starting to look like Chewbacca πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Have a blessed and fruitful week ahead! πŸ’›β˜€οΈ
