Started the day off with a 3k run today which I was actually amazed I managed cause I bloody hate running ๐Ÿ˜But sometimes it's great just to get out and have some fresh air first thing.
I took up running for a while when I was trying to shed baby weight. At that point I was also still breastfeeding and I think getting out of the house sans baby was actually really therapeutic. It was a bit of a phase though and even though I signed up for a 10k (which I didn't end up doing ๐Ÿ™„) I haven't kept it up. I just don't enjoy it much and find it really tough. You don't have to be good at everything to be into fitness. I think some people think they should do and like everything but actually it's perfectly fine to stick to what you enjoy and what works for you.
Finished off in the gym with some kettle bells and stretches, details in story.
Feels like another weekend day as neither of us are working today so just gonna spend some time just the three of us.

Abs still visible even after a big Indian meal last night. I used to have this crazy thinking that told me big meals made me fat the next day. I'd probably skip breakfast and spend the morning exercising.
Thankfully that was many years ago now and since I educated myself in exercise and good nutrition I no longer suffer those kind of thoughts.
Weight gain happens over a period of time if you're continually consuming more calories than you're burning. One big meal won't make you immediately gain weight. You can also do what I do and enjoy delicious healthy food when you're out. I don't like the taste of junk or deep fried stuff so I look forward to a delicious meal that's still healthy and that someone else has cooked. ๐Ÿ˜‹

A wee trip to @castlefrasernts today with the little man and grandparents followed by a visit to the farm.
A few of you asking about his wellies in my stories, they're just cheapo @primark ones, didn't want to fork out as they're his first pair and I'm not sure he's ready for them. They didn't last long on his feet as I think they're a bit tricky to walk in when you're only learning.
Such a good workout this morning, I'll put details in my story. I almost didn't bother, being the weekend but yet again I'm so glad I did.
In other news, SO excited for curry night ๐Ÿ› which is about to commence. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Started the day off with cardio HIIT on the treadmill for 30 minutes sprint/walk and this little upper body circuit ๐Ÿ’ช
Warm up: 5kg throws
โ€ข Cable pull down
โ€ข Cable rows (supine grip)
โ€ข Lat pull downs w. rope
4 sets of 8-12 reps. Finished off with a drop set of cable seated row (not filmed)
Sonny is in this weird routine of waking up in the middle of the night (4am ish) needing cuddles, and then falling back asleep until about 9am. Which is sort of good because I have longer to workout and even tidy the house a bit before he wakes up. But then means our days start a lot later so getting out anywhere before lunchtime is even harder! Aaand I've been awake since the 4am wake up so by 6pm tonight I'm gonna be ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด
Hey ho, such is #mumlife ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธEven more of a excuse to drink double my quota of coffee today.

I've been clearing out my phone reflecting on the last year or so since I started this account. I started with 40 followers, all friends. I didn't have a clue about good pictures or posts or how insta really worked. I just started recording my journey back to fitness after having Sonny, and slowly but surely my account grew.
It grew more than just accumulating followers though, its become a huge motivational tool for me. I've connected with so many other lovely instagrammers who've inspired me and undoubtedly pushed me further with training than ever before.
My account is entirely honest, I've never followed for follow, bought followers, used a follow train or anything else to gain 'false' followers. I truly value each and every comment and like, and try to encourage others because this place can be hard at times. Especially when for no apparent reason you lose like 10 followers in a day!?! But you just keep going because each and every picture and post is now like a diary that your heart is invested in.
My account is tiny in ig terms but I'm so thankful for all of you out there.

I feel like ๐Ÿ’ฉ today. My dentist on Monday had a cold and I knew I'd end up with it ๐Ÿ™„Really couldn't be assed with a workout but Sonny had a long sleep so I made myself a strong coffee and got on with it. 30 minutes cardio which actually made me feel tonnes better. Something about sweating when you've got a cold, seems to help?! Did a few heavy lifts: SL deadlift, upright row, military press... and by a few I mean 'a few' like maybe 5-6 reps of each for 3 sets. Probably I could have pushed out more but that was enough for today. Finished with some core although still not really feeling it. Years of training mean I can sort of switch to autopilot now and just get on with it. I try to encourage clients to switch their mind set like that - make it like brushing your teeth. Unless of course you're really ill. I however am not and a case of the sniffles is not a valid excuse. ๐ŸคงPlus it made me feel better!

I don't often feature our savoury food because I eat a lot of the same stuff which I've shared already if you want to scan through. This however looked so gorgeous and autumnal I just had to share it with you ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ
It's just oven roast gammon, bulgar wheat cooked with onion, a low salt @saykallo cube, chick peas, garlic salt and fresh mint from the garden. Served with these amazing carrots I found in @lidluk and Savoy cabbage which I steamed. Also had a big blob of hummus on the side for #healthyfats
This is a great example of what #cleaneating means to me. Simple ingredients with minimal processing, minimal additives which makes up the bulk of our diet at home.
Reason number 651, 979 why autumn is my favourite season: I LOVE this kind of homely rootvegetabley sort of food โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‚

Most gyms have one now and if you're unsure how to use it get a PT to show you the basics.
I use short sharp punches, I'm using it for a workout, not to be a boxing pro.
To avoid injury though it's important to keep your wrists straight and the knuckles of your index and middle finger should hit the bag first. You should hear smack rather than a thud.
For kicks I hit with my inside foot and bring my knee up and round. Again I don't kick with any real force because I'm not a pro. It's good to keep light on your feet too, just like you would in a real fight.
If you're feeling a bit stressed out kicking sh*t out of a bag is perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ (Btw I'm not stressed out today tho I just enjoy it โ˜บ๏ธ)
Don't be scared to try things out, as long as you do it safely to avoid injury you'll be absolutely fine.

I love that quote. It really makes me buck up my ideas when I tell myself I don't have time for things.
We all tell ourselves we don't have time, everyone's busy. I know being a parent means you have to do a lot more planning but even if you don't have kids you're probably spinning a lot of plates too.
But exercise is actually not as time consuming as you might think. Just three hours a week can help you make a huge change to your body and fitness, if you work hard. How much time do you really spend on your phone when you could be putting it to better use? Set the time aside and just do it. Whether it means getting up an hour early like I do, or sacrificing an hour in front of the tv at night, six weeks later you'll be so glad you did. The time is gonna pass anyway, so you may as well get on with it.
I've got a joyous morning at the dentist today, but I woke at my usual 6am so nipped out for a quick HIIT workout. I could've just lay in bed and scrolled through my phone for an hour.
If you've been telling yourself you're going to start a fitness program, make this the week you do it.

Sunday morning and time for a good old stretch. ๐Ÿ–ค
Didn't get to bed until nearly midnight but body clock woke me at 6am ๐Ÿ™„ so after a big cup of coffee I snuck out for a workout before the boys woke up.
30 minutes on the treadmill followed by โ€ข Cable kick backs
โ€ข Deadifts
โ€ข Military press โ€ข Cable lat pull down โ€ข Press ups โ€ข Plank > Side plank
As many as I could of each done as a circuit for 3 rounds.
Finished off with some good long stretches in the form of yoga poses.
Just in time for little man waking โœ…
Quick dash to Asda for breakfast goods and now we're going to have a Sonny day playing together. I feel like he's a little more in need of cuddles today after we were out last night and grandparents put him to bed. Plus now that I'm working a bit I want to make sure he gets plenty of quality time with me.

Dairy free, low in refined sugar, bit of protein and full of nutritious ingredients, you could almost call these healthy.

Inspired by her latest recipe though I gave these a bash and they turned out pretty damn good. I made them last minute yesterday so just used what we had in the cupboard and didn't measure precisely so I won't give you an exact recipe. In mine I used equal parts coconut flour, @greenandblacks cocoa powder, coconut oil, then 1 egg, 3 egg whites, @halenaturals powdered PB, 1 ripe mashed banana, vanilla flavour agave syrup, vanilla extract and a little baking powder.
Served with @kokodairyfree yogurt, @sweetfreedomuk choc shot, sugar free syrup and bee pollen. I don't eat much sweet stuff so to me these tasted sweet, although I know by my husbands reaction they weren't sweet enough for him ๐Ÿ˜‚ So drizzle on the choc shot and syrup if you like em sweeter.
Perfect for Sonny though who gobbled his down. I don't like to give him too much sugar either so they're a great wee treat for him and me. ๐Ÿ˜‹
I lying in bed snuggling with Sonny as I type this, no workout today, just coffee and cuddles this morning while the rain batters the window.
