Hey happy Friday ❤️ Tomorrow it’s my 37th birthday... wtaf?! I probably thought at this age I’d be in my big granny pants and using oil of ulay (retro reference there) How wrong was I?! I’m most definitely the healthiest I’ve ever been and certainly in better shape. I absolutely love being a Mum and even though I always thought I’d be a bit younger having kids, he came at exactly the right time for us.
You can start following a fit and healthy lifestyle at any age, I’ve had clients in there 50’s undergo complete body and lifestyle transformations just through training and diet.

A few of my favourite #trx core exercises for you today. Plan was to actually have a rest day but I woke up super early feeling full of energy so I didn’t waste it.
Keep your back nice and straight with these, core engaged. Don’t overdo it until you’ve built up your core strength, start with only as many as you can do and take your knees down as soon as you feel your back might arch.
I’ve put a little clip of getting your feet into the TRX in my stories: it can be tricky but a little practice and you’ll soon find it’s easy.
I did this for 3 rounds, as many as I could of each with 30 sec - 1 min rest between exercises. Cardio was 20 minutes uphill walk TM.
Just finished our oats this morning (again in my stories) and just getting ready for the day. Some bits to do this morning then waiting in for a boiler engineer this afternoon, it hasn’t been working properly but so lucky it hasn’t packed in completely with the cold weather! Hey morning! Someone told me about #wellnesswednesday last week so that’s what I’m focusing on today.
5.30am start so I could get a workout done before the little man woke up, the details and clips are in my stories.
Wellness for me always includes my head too so I had a couple of niggly things that I’d been putting off, bank related life admin which btw I hate 😫 so straight after I got to it and sorted it out. Needless to say it took two minutes so I could’ve easily done it sooner but I’m bad for putting that stuff off. Then I even had time left to write the Christmas cards and have a quick tidy before the toddler woke up.
So now I feel 10 times lighter having had a decent work out but feeling even better for ticking off some of my to do list ✅😇
Off to kindergym this morning then not quite sure what the rest of the day will bring. So happy wellness Wednesday ☺️❤️ have a great day!

Just back from celebrating my lovely husband’s birthday with a family trip to the panto followed by pizza. LOVED it and Sonny sat through the whole two hour panto absolutely transfixed!
Started the day with a long workout after a few days off which was much needed. 30 minutes incline walk on the treadmill followed by:
Lat pull down
Push ups
Upright row (Tri-set)
Walking lunges x2 6kg kettlebells
Sumo goblet-squat 8kg kettlebell
(Superset)
Using an anchor :
Hip raises
Leg raises - single
Side to side leg raises
10-15 minutes deep yoga stretches to finish. Trying to loosen up my hips.
Oh I’m in love with the pizza leggero at @pizzaexpress Haven’t had one in years but it’s my new favourite place I think, or atleast a close runner up to @nandosuk 🍕🐔 ❤️ Hope you had a lovely day all x

This picture suggests I’ve been in the gym when in fact I haven’t stepped foot in there at all this weekend or today.
I listened to my body and it said ‘don’t go out there you crazy woman, it’s 6am there’s a foot of snow on the ground and it’s minus four’ so I listened and enjoyed some nice long lies.
Crazy busy weekend of parties and socialising (mainly my toddlers, his social life is far more exciting than mine)
Got up early and instead of a workout I cleaned/tidied the whole house today because it was starting to look like one off of those extreme hoarding programmes. 😳
Music class with the boy then out for lunch to the garden centre and to ask whether or not I could return a faulty real Christmas tree. Faulty because within a few days up the branches are drooping so bad all the decorations are falling off. Paying forty quid for a tree that doesn’t even last a week?! Sod that, so anyway I have to return our floppy tree and they’ll replace it no bother. Phew.
I ate loads over the weekend. Followed up my cooked breakfast with a roast turkey lunch then chicken and noodles with toast for tea followed by filo mince pies and Greek yogurt. Felt a bit sick this morning so I pulled it back today 😜

Organic trimmed grilled bacon
Low sugar baked beans
Sautéed baby plum tomatoes and mushrooms
Poached egg
Wholewheat toast
🔸Mince pies:
Filo pastry
Mince meat
Oil for brushing
A lighter crispier alternative to shortcrust ones. Spray with edible gold or silver paint and glitter ✨ ✨
Started the day off with a long walk@in the snow- excellent work for your legs and bum 👍🍑
Of for a Christmas catch up with friends today then hopefully a chilled evening and early night. Next week is birthday week, both my husband’s and my birthday so lots to do as well as Christmas prep! 🎉🎄🎈

I’m so sorry I basically have nothing of interest to share tonight 🤔
I’m not very good at posting random motivational stuff, there’s plenty of it out there already! So just a little arm #flex for Friday.
Today we played in the snow and spent time with granny and grandad. ❤️ Oats for breakfast, #pret chicken salad and soup for lunch and a sandwich for dinner. Not very creative but I was feeling lazy. 🤷‍♀️ No workout today but traipsing through snow is bloody good #cardio ☃️ Waaah I love the snow so much, hope it stays till Christmas!

Hey filmed my TRX workout this morning for you. But even better, there’s another banging Christmas sound track 🎧 🎅 I couldn’t resist this one... made me laugh anyway.
Ok back to the more serious matter of training. Simple circuit of 4 exercises for the whole body.
• Rows
• Reverse flies
• Curtsy Lunges
• Forward extension
Do as many as you can of each for 3-4 rounds. Done.
Currently sitting down to watch a Christmas movie with a sugar free cherry flavour #chupachups 🍒 SO good.
Spent another day just me and the boy picking up Christmas bits and hiding from the storm. Good news though, it’s meant to snow again tonight.
I’d say I’m nearly finished with Christmas shopping but actually I’m just running out of spending money so might have to put a cap on it now. Maybe. Maybe not. ❤️

Apparently it’s Wednesday?! I have no idea... my days are all to pot as the festive season kicks in. My work has all but finished for Christmas as people have kids school nativities and other family commitments so I feel like I’m in that weird zone where it could be any day of the week and any time of the day because of the dark nights and mornings.
No workout for me, taking a rest day and had a rare long lie (ok 7am but that’s a long lie for me)
Instead me and the wee man hit the (kinder) gym together. 💪
I was so impressed that he could swing from a bar! He’s only 18 months, probably it’s normal for his age but you never know what they’re capable of until they suddenly do it. Tune into my stories for the evidence.
I hope he grows up enjoying sport and exercise although we’d never force it on him. (@justthewon no, he’s not going to be a footballer) I always enjoyed sport but nerves held me back... I hope I can encourage him to be confident and enjoy competition instead of being scared off by it like I was.
Went off to one of the beach cafes for lunch as it’s nice and cosy and has a box of books for kids ✅👍 then played some more in the afternoon.

Starting out my week counting my macros... pahahaaa jokes. I barely have time to write a shopping list let alone record every morsel of food.

While counting macros may be a useful tool in some cases, I just want to say you don’t HAVE to do it at all.
I eat a healthy cleanish diet full of fresh produce, lean protein and healthy fats.
I eat intuitively which basically means I eat when I’m hungry. There’s not a lot of crap in my diet so I don’t have to worry too much.
I train hard and move a lot so I know my body needs the calories to work.
The main reason I don’t count macros is because as a teen i went on a diet that ended up with me severely underweight, writing down the calories in everything I ate and weighing myself twice a day. I wasn’t desperately unhappy but you can’t live a full enjoyable life with that kind of control. It’s very isolating.
So nowadays I avoid numbers like calories or my weight, it makes me happier.
I don’t feel bad if I’ve indulged because I know my body probably needed it if I was craving it. For example my downfall isn’t eating unhealthy food, it’s over eating in general like having three bowls of muesli instead of one 🙈
My weight doesn’t fluctuate much now (pregnancy aside) so I believe I’m in a good place with it. I didn’t have periods for a number of years so I’m absolutely overjoyed that I had Sonny. I had a huge fear that I might not be able to.
So anyway don’t buy into the belief that you need a fancy diet, a Fitbit, an Apple watvh, gymshark leggings, BCAAs, lululemon leggings, a plant based diet, shakes, teas or whatever else people are trying to plug.
Being fit and healthy is actually surprisingly easy. It’s about commitment and perseverance and the little choices you make every day. ❤️

🔸Waffles 🔸
Starting the week off with some healthy waffles this morning. I improvised a recipe I saw in @gurglemagazine using steamed beetroot and a few natural ingredients. Sweetened only with spotty banana and some honey, also dairy free.
I’m terrible at measuring things out carefully, especially when it comes to making recipes up... but you can usually get away with it in batters. But bare with me...
Recipe:
1 egg
1 egg white
3 tablespoon wholewheat flour
1 tablespoon plain flour
2 tablespoon steamed beetroot
1/2 spotty banana
Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon baking soda
Almond milk to loosen
Coconut oil for waffle iron.

Blend all the ingredients, grease iron with coconut oil, pour batter in and leave until cooked through.
Toppings:
@kokodairyfree strawberry yogurt
Blueberries
Goji berries
Dried cranberries
Mixed seeds
Worth a try and definitely ask Santa for a waffle iron if you don’t already have one 🎅☺️
So in true xmas spirit I spent approximately 3 hours this morning untangling xmas tree lights only to discover they didn’t work 🙄so our naked tree is up
until I can buy some more lights today.
