With less than 2 weeks left until my first Ironman, I'm starting to taper and get my body ready for race day! A big part of preparing for races for me is to make sure I'm giving my body what it needs for fuel and recovery.
Dinner tonight consisted of this beautifully colourful bowl that had the perfect blend of savoury, sweet, salty and creamy was just what my body was craving!
This bowl contains: oven roasted yams, avocado, grilled chicken, fresh cilantro, feta cheese, and baby greens all on a bed of tumeric quinoa.

Breakfasts are all ready for the week and are protein packed for after those early morning workouts! πŸ’ͺ

Smoothie bowl base of coconut milk, bananas, strawberries and chocolate protein powder. Topped with oats, chia seeds, coconut & flax seeds.

18 years ago, I met Lesley at a triathlon. We instantly became friends and trained and raced together until we parted ways for university. Over a decade has gone by since then and we somehow found ourselves living in the same province and are back to training and racing together! So happy that we got the opportunity to tackle our first 100 milers together at @sinister7ultra this past weekend. Headed out early this morning with the running crew to get in one last nice, easy 30km before my first 100miler next weekend! Turned out to be a bit on the hot side today, and what better way to cool off than with a delicious post-workout ”milkshake”! πŸ‘Œ

My post-workout choco banana strawberry "milkshake":
Throw one frozen banana, three frozen strawberries, 1 cup coconut milk (or milk or milk substitute), 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Canadian protein premium whey protein isolate in chocolate milkshake flavour) in your #vitamix
(Or high powered blender). Blend until smooth and then enjoy!
