HAPPY TUES! 🤗 Jammin out to some *NSYNC Christmas 🎄 tunage, making clients plans 😈 and just reflecting on some things today.

Almost ten years ago when I first started doing “fitness”, it was partly out of the craving for control of things that weren’t necessarily mine to control. While I still struggle on occasion with that in a different aspect, I now find solitude + strength, but also softness for myself, my life, my body and others too. Also hell yeah I wanna look + feel strong and confident in myself and my bod.

I contribute the change in mindset to not having an “end point” per say anymore, but instead, simply using persistent progress as my goal. I’ve done bikini competitions as “end points” and while I have nothing against them, I have realized that I personally get and GIVE more out of becoming a stronger human inside and out consistently, not just solely for an end point. Feeling stuck? Start where you’re at, experiment and find what moves you, build upon small wins + struggles and let ‘em snowball ⛄️ And if you find an end point is best suit for you, go for it! But just know it’s not required. You are infinite.

The world will try to pull you in different directions. It’s easy to fall into the comparison trap because we are SO overstimulated. Things are constantly being shoved in our face. You have to stand strong in who you strive to be, show up for yourself and for others.

Happy Monday 🤗 Whipped up my leggies somethin fierce this morning 😈 Programming new workouts for myself + scheduling leg day twice a week = playtime in the gym. Gettin in those compounds, focusing on progressively going heavier and adding in that accessory work for some extra SAUCE.

Happy Sunday! 🤗 Just over here tryna make peace ✌🏼 with my ab workouts. I have commitment issues when it comes to directly working them 🤪 lol anyone else?

I often integrate in-between-set ab exercises and lots of unilateral + overhead movements during my reg lifts to really work my core then, too. It is beneficial to directly challenge them! You’ll find your lifts become stronger, your balance and mobility improves and ya, who doesn’t dig having strong abs? Just bein real 🤷‍♀️

Keep in mind: abs (more specifically the way they look on you) are mainly genetic + based on body fat percentage, so don’t fall into the comparison trap and get down on yourself if your abs don’t look like Sally’s. Find your OWN fire, embrace your OWN strength 💪🏼👑

🔑 Consistency: let’s talk about it. 👉🏼 What does it mean to YOU? 👇🏼 It’s crucial in manifesting any goals you set in life. In AND out of the gym. It’s pushing past discomfort again and again - however that might show up for you. How badly do you want change? Are you willing to reach smaller goals and patiently allow them to gain momentum over time to reach those bigger ones? Also ask yourself if you’re okay with making your plans/goals BUT allowing room for life to interrupt. You’re going to inevitably fall down, but choose to pick yourself back up. Use your failures as lessons, celebrate 🎉 but humble yourself when you do succeed.

So many people think they lack the ability to go after a life of purpose and become intimidated by the work, time, effort and process. 🤷‍♀️ When kn reality they lack NOTHING except the genuine belief in themselves and their worthiness as a human being + the grace that comes along with it.

Several years ago I was recovering from an eating disorder that left me so broken + small enough to believe that I’d never be able to build myself back up - physically and mentally. F that mindset. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Today I am the strongest I’ve ever been and carry with me all of the things I never imagined I’d accomplish, but I did. Because I knew that if I truly wanted to live instead of exist and spin my wheels in a vicious cycle of “wanting” but not willing, I had to be consistent in fighting, learning, honoring where I’m at and where I’m going. I STILL struggle with self doubt sometimes - especially when I crave immediate gratification, but I STILL consistently fight.

I’m here to take up space. So are you. Start now. Start small to pursue big. Chip away at it everyday and give yourself moments to also reflect on how far you’ve come and how far you’re going to go. 👑 I believe in you. So many people believe in you. It’s time to believe in yourself too. 🦄🖤💪🏼

I rested this weekend; ate lots of good food, drank some dranks🍹 + just unplugged as much as I could from my “routine” and spent the weekend at my dads place. Time that I treasure so much.

We got to talking about memories over dinner by the beach in 75 degree weather IN NOVEMBER! Just got slapped in the face with so much gratitude of where I’m able to bloom and manifest life despite some feelings of anxiousness and self doubt I’ve been battling lately. And also that I won’t be graced with the superpower to potentially key cars with my nips this winter lol.

Got me to thinking: If I could tell my younger self anything...I wouldn’t. 🤷‍♀️

Every single moment - good and bad - I’ve lived has molded me into the woman I am today. I know little Megmo couldn’t wait to grow up, but bigger Megmo isn’t really sure that’ll ever happen 😉 But what I am sure of is that God has done a tremendous job helping me water the beautiful flowers growing in my garden of life. He’s weeded out (sometimes painfully and against my desires) the people + things preventing flowers from blooming. And I’m here to keep watering, keep growing, keep weeding and most of all: picking the most beautiful flowers to share with others so graciously placed in my life.

There’s so much beauty amidst the frustration of not having complete control over everything that happens to you in life, because everything has purpose. YOU have purpose.

One ☝🏼 thing I always encourage if you’re training for hypertrophy (aka increase in muscle mass) is to PUSH 👏🏼 YOURSELF 👏🏼 and go as heavy as you can unless you’re in a burnout set (with good form), espec. during compound lifts for as many reps as possible. If you need to reduce the weight to finish the reps in that set, do it! Don’t limit yourself, you’d be surprised how strong you are. + Don’t be afraid you’ll turn into shehulk and skip going heavier for upper bod, ladies. 😜 You wanna be a skrong machine inside + out, you gotta get in, go hard, embrace your badassery, eat good 🥞 and REST. ALWAYS search for and find your STRONG + embrace it 💪🏼

Just a happy human bean this week after battling with shittastic feelings of inadequacy + self-doubt last week. Def know it’s helped to laser focus on serving energy to my (amazing!) clients, my passions + ENJOYING where I’m at in life: mentally, spiritually and physically 💪🏼

Training + eating to be my strongest self, being a good friend, working hard + taking time to explore. Trying NOT to take control of things that aren’t mine to control (an ongoing process for me!).

Feeling the discomfort of not getting instant gratification that we crave SO HARD these days, but rather relishing in long-term growth and keeping my eyes + heart open to who/whatever God brings into my life. The negative feelings we internalize about ourselves are so minuscule in comparison the strength and resilience we have, as well as how others perceive us.
.
If you haven’t been told this yet today, let me tell you how CAPABLE you are and how worthy you are of LIVING instead of just existing, despite what you see as “shortcomings” and “failures”.
.
No amount of likes, follows, jobs, money, cars, blah blah blah material things can define your worth as a human being; that worth comes with being the best YOU that you can be every damn day.
.
Remind someone else of that today, too. Because it’s necessary when the latter is constantly being plastered in our faces and making us feel unworthy. Silence that noise. Make your own. 🎶 Need prayer for something today? HOLLER 👇🏼👇🏼
